Wellfleet, Cape Cod Mass.
Cape Cod is one my favorit place to go to the beach. Where I stay, the nearest ocean side beach is only a 4 min. drive away and the nearest bay side beach is only seconds away (a good 10 min. walk). There's also the popular WellFleet Drive-In Theater.

Depends on vacation
our cottage by the lake for weekends
Barcelona for active week with friend/s
Northern Finland and Norway for camping
Madeira was beautiful and relaxing too. Good food etc, good for couples
Vik, Iceland. So peaceful and serene, perfect for "getting away from it all".

My favorite place to go...well, there's a tie between Nova Scotia and Maine. I sometimes just like to get away from civilization and just live it up with nature. Both of those places are absolutely beautiful.

I love going to New England. I generally stay in Cape Neddick, ME (I think ME is the one for Maine...) or Portsmouth, NH because that's where all the family out that way is, but I love to travel around the whole area.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I live in Massachusetts which must number among the most beautiful places in the world. We don't have deserts or great water falls, and our mountains are on a more human scale, but we do have beautiful beaches in the east, rolling hills in center, the Berkshire mountains in the west. And we have wonderful people, delicious food, inspiring cultural activities, picturesque towns and villages and much much more.
My idea of a vacation is not to loll on a beach or tempt fate with bungie jumping, but rather to learn something, to see something that I can't see around here. If I had to spend more than a few days at a beach, more than an hour shopping, more than a minute in a casino, I'd go mad!
