Speaking as a native German and English speaker, I must say that German accents suck.
From my experience in sitting in my University library when it closes (I study in Cottbus) the only people I see cringing due to the massacre of the English language when closing time is announced are my fellow German students that can speak relatively accent free English.

(Wenn man nicht English sprechen kann, dann sollte man es lieber lassen. Dies gilt insbesondere für sämtliche Kandidaten von Castingshows :mad: )

I don't know how bad my accent is when I speak english (ent ei wohn't trei tu wreid tuu matsch wiß siß akzent) but I've been told to sound like someone from Oxsford rather than german by some americans I've met last year.

I was flying with Lufthansa to German, and the flight attendant had the most incredible voice..I leaned back in my chair, closed my eyes, listened to her speak German and relax. I think that some German accents, when used with German are very wonderful. And I seem to have picked one up when I speak it..w00t.

my typing of streotypical comedy geordie is appalling and I live with people who speak deep geordie (they can understand norwegion because of this!!!)

Lol! Isn't it howay man for ... Came up in, erm, that one about the man with the metal legs, right after he got captured. I never really understood it myself, as I cant hear any Geordie in Goerings speech in BoB say, but it's a nice story. I don't have a very pronounced Geordie accent myself, but I do find it fairly easy to discern Norwegian (I don't understand it but can follow it as a language) unlike Austrian German, which I really struggle with, even though I've studied German.
