Superpower 2

The Sword and Sheild

I just bought the game (hey, it was cheap), and got through the install with minimal problems. But now whenever I attempt to start a game, it goes to the starting... thing, then just goes back to the main menu. Anyone know what the hell is wrong?

Check your video card and drivers vs the card and driver minimum requirements.

I did that before I bought the game. I was a bit weary since I have an Intel Express chipset, and it gives me a lot of hell on a lot of games (I haven't decided what to upgrade to yet, I want an Nvidia, but an ATI is the cheapest one I can get that will perform somewhat good), but since the game runs until this point, which seems to have nothing to do with it, I don't think that is the problem.

No, it would die at the start of a new game, because that's when it does most of the heavy lifting (pre-loading etc) for the game itself.

That said, I've found the superpower line of products to be a bunch of buggy crap. Rome total war is much better.

You sure the main menu didn't change to the Single-Player menu? They look the same but the words are different.

*shrug* SOMETIMES it's the simple things that cause problems.

The game is pretty buggy but anyone can easily play around it. And the bugs just come and go everytime you load a game.

I only found ONE typo thus far. Vehicules.

Yes, I went to the SP menu, clicked on Tutorials I and II, scenario, anything, it just kept coming back. But I have fixed it.

People sure do like this game to make another thread about it every other week.

Well it satisfies my personal thirst for world domination.

Currently my U.S. has taken over all of North America save for Canada. And I rule it under the Royal Family of the United States. AND I have Russia, China, India, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Finland, Romania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Croatia, and Algeria under my military control.

It's so deliciously evil to play. Yet slow. I wish it was faster to load dammit.

I agree Rome Total War is a far better game (assuming this is as good as its reviews). I'm amazed it actually works with my Intel chipset, because most games that I want don't, like Battlefield 2. Most games that have problems with it though crash during startup, or at least before I get to a menu.

At any rate, the problem was with my protection software. A few manual adjustments and now it is running fine (so far).
