My end of the world novel:

A race of god evolve from 12 ordinary people and decide to take the names of the old Asgard gods(Norse mythology). In the beginning they are benevolent rulers of the world but quarrel of which is the greater god. one of the gods, Loki kill's the Odin's son Baldur over the powerful Dark Sphere. Loki is imprisoned for eternity in the center of the earth. Loki's children: Set, Kali and Typhon wage a 1000 year war against the gods destroying all of humanity until only two remain. They take shelter in the depths of the Great Tree. The last remaining god's create a gigantic castle and guard it. In the end Kali uses the Dark Sphere to release her father. Loki creates a world-wide fire to engulf the world killing the remaining life on earth and raises a army of ice demons and serpents to invade Vallhalla destroying all of the gods except for the reborn Baldur who destroys the Dark Sphere with the this father's spear causing everything to be destroyed. The Earth & Sun is blackened and dead until a the the great tree is reborn. Sol(sun) gives birth to a new sun. The Great Tree sends it's spheres to transform the environment. The last two humans emerge from the tree to create a new humanity.

That sounds like a do-over of the Norse/Viking legend of Ragnarok.
Ragnarok for dummies:Bunch of gods have a war because,well because that's what gods do,they kill each other and pretty much everything else,but two people miraculasly survive because they hid under a big tree.they then proceed to repopulate the world.The End

It's is but it's only the begining......theirs more to the story having to do with the two nations of the world that devlop from the new humans. I want to write a diffrent end-of-the world scenerio, opposite of "Left-Behind" and "The Omega Code". Basically like the writer of those story who use the book of revelations as thier basis I am using other sources as mine.

I've been working on a leftist themed apocalypsish story. It will be a science fantasy story, though, not literally about Marx rising from the grave to fight capitalists, but with socialism/anarchism being a dominant theme.

The second part has to do do with the two nations that develop:

The Dals: Peace loving nation that live in small communities around the Pacific Rim. They have a deep sense of respect for nature and world around them. They worship the light sphere which brings peace and harmony to who ever sits within it's presence. The sphere was found at the base of a mountain by a man called Nikonlish. The sphere is held in the great temple of Sanbalaz in the city of Atais. Population: 12,756,340

The Drayans: Industrial-slave nation that lives in western Europe and New England area. They are ruled by the Grand Chancellor and Lords. A fascistic nation that stops at nothing to control everthing. They worship the last of the gods, Set* as their supreme being. Population 14,567,980

The Drayans wanto to conquer the Dals to gain the sphere to be able to develop the earth. They also need the Dals for slave labor. The light sphere has the power of Gaia which limits the destruction of the earth to an minimal amount. The drayans need to destroy it to increase its industrial output and increase it's population.

The dals form of worship(in the loosest sense) is that of two or more people sitting under a bodhi tree to gain inner wisdom. After they gain inner wisdom they make a pilgramage to Atais to the temple of Sanbalaz.

I know very little about scientology except it's a weirdo cult of some sort that is big with hollywood types and is banned in Germany!!!

Scientology is only big with celebrities because they are the only ones that can afford it, and all the influence they have over people makes them half-crazed to begin with.

But your idea sounds pretty cool, if you ever make it a book, I'd read it.
