i personally like brave new world a bit more than 1984, orwell wasn't definitely commenting on the world as it was in 1948 were huxley was actually more extrapolating a possible future, some of whose aspects seem more and more likely as time goes on.

Atwood was writing a dystopian fable in the same way of Swift's "A modest proposal"(in which he instructed to the Irish to sell their babies for food). The Gilead is a mixture of both present and past mysoganic ideals like multiple wive that originates from fundmentalist mormonism & islam, puritianism, fundmentalist Iran, christian fundmentalism, televanglists, fascism, christian identity groups.

Not that the Gilead would be a practical or sane form of government, she was writing, like Orwell, that this could happen if a nation loses it's sanity and completly goes 180 into a dicatortorialism based on so-called "old-fashioned" morality.

Actually, I'm writing a novel right now entitled Nacht Soldat, which deals with a completely new view of Revelation (And no, it does not involve the Rapture, the Rapture is a bullshit theory used by fundamentalists which has no basis), as well as my own views on the government of the Antichrist and the false, wordwide church he founds, which is called Sovereign Christianity.

Imagine LaVeyan Satanism combined with fundamentalist Christianity. This story takes a totally new view on the subjects of Revelation, hell, salvation (which is totally open to non-Christians, in my mind, and in the story) and right-wing politics.

It is also immensely personal for me, as the main character Tobias Lane is a caricature of myself and he is the key figure of the story, and using this, I can also tell others how I feel.

I've had many varied inspirations for it, a good deal of which are the encounters with demons I have regularly had throughout my life (And no, I'm not insane. Others have seen this, and they're not even religious.) As well as historical events and ideas on human nature. The title comes from several things. 'Nacht' is taken from the Kristallnacht, the horrifying pogrom in Germany, and Walpurgisnacht, a witches' Sabbath, as well as the Soldat, which not only evokes soldier, but also "Sol", referring to light or sun. But I have gone on too long, forgive me for being so conceited.

I had originally published the first two chapters, but they were, personally, not very satisfying to me, though everyone who read them told me that I am a good writer and am making a very no-holds-barred, truthful story.

I am currently in the process of re-writing the first two chapters, and I will periodically add more. I have no idea how many chapters there will be, but I know what I want my story to be like, and I will know when it is finished. The style that I use was inspired by many anime. However, I have heard from many people that this is what it is similar to:

Berserk and Big O, as well as Record of Lodoss War and Trigun for the majority of the characters, especially the heroes; with a bit of Hellsing, Evangelion and Saiyuki for the villains/demons; and Lodoss War, Trigun and Fruits Basket for the females.

However, I'm spending a good deal of my money on Warhammer right now (and a smaller amount on things to make my crappy room more interesting), so I'm not very sure. I could always borrow a friend's digital camera or ask to use their scanner, but, given the subject matter, this story contains some pictures which are very violent and contain demonic allusions, and thus, would offend most people I know, down here in the Bible Belt.

Now, being a Jew myself, i have heard many a conspiracy, but this is my favorite. I have heard of Sephardic Jews from Africa and the Middle East, I am an Ashkenazi Jew from Europe, I have heard of Concervative Judaism, Orthodox Judaism, Reformed Judaism, I've even heard of Jews for Jesus (some BS someone came up with to convert the Jews) but I've never heard of the Space Jew.
