Holiday report: radio follies

Okay so I spent a week in the mountains by a lake in a cottage. Higher elevation allowed me to tune into a lot of stations I can't normally pick up. I finally heard the Drudge Report - couldn't help it, really - as I guess it's a syndicated show, while it was broadcast, it was broadcast on about a dozen different radio stations up and down the dial.

What a load of hooey. That has to be one of the single lamest radio shows I've ever heard. I mean, I knew this guy had a website or a blog or somesuch, but honest to God, I felt like my IQ rating slipped a few points while this guy droned on and on and on in circles, saying the same thing over and over and over ad infinitum.

That program wasn't news so much as it was a neo-con mantra recital. I switched it off after twenty minutes or so out of sheer tedium (not to mention a headache). So, being not an American, I ask Americans - what's with the Drudge? Is he hot? Is he yesterday's news? Do people take his repetitive drivel seriously?

I know I didn't. Please enlighten me.
