So, my mom just called me, and told me my cousin (think stereotypical preppy bitch, who decided she's too good to hang out with me and my siblings when we are able to visit) got 4 scholarships. At first, I thought, "cool, good for her". Then mom goes on to say she got 1 from a scholarship for black people (She's Persian, and looks it)..and she did an interview in person for this. Then, she got a scholarship from the White Rose society, which is one for gay people. My cousin is straight. I'm bi, and I've applied for scholarships of that nature, to no avail.
Am I the only one thinking "What the fuck is wrong with people?!"?
Has anyone else heard of anything like this happening? I always assumed that you applied for scholarships that you actually fit the category for, and only those applicants who did fit said criteria would get them.
Is that legal? I mean, that's like a fundamentalist getting a scholarship for atheist students!
That being said, how does the scholarship fund determine your sexuality? Do they take your word for it?

They leave you in a room with a hot dude and a hot chick. Both drop pencils and from another room they moniter whose ass you look at when the two pick up thier pencils.

I have no idea if it's legal, but since the people at the first actually saw her...meh.
As for the sexuality one, I suppose they do, but the ones I applied for never required an essay and I never got to the interview stage, sadly, so I can't say for certain.
Y'know...that fundamentalist thing gives me an idea. I'm an Eccletic Pagan..you think I could sign up for some Christian scholarship, or do you think I'd have more luck with an Islamic one? lol..*Sighs and shakes head*
