Hope
Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest weakness. Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest weakness.

Delusion? Hope is never a delusion as anything is possible until the truth is revealed.

Yeah, I am questioning what the purpose of this thread is... ;)
I don't spend time hoping or wishing when I could be doing. Our greatest strength isn't in hope either, we find our true strength in conflict.

Hope is the representational aspect of the inherent irrelevency of the interminable individual and the collective dynamics of that individual's cognitive accessories serve to display a symbolic artificiality from which such illusions are derived.
Or maybe it doesn't mean jack ...

Yeah, hope is our delusion. To even claim that our lives have meaning is hopeful. In that way I do tend to attempt to be hopeful, I want to find meaning and believe that there is something greater than myself. This world is nothing without the hope that the sun will shine again and that times will get better and this world is nothing without the hope that we as human beings are actually something that has a purpose and meaning rather than bastards created by a cold universe and some unfortunate biological processes.
I hope that I will get a pony for christmas! :)

I thought that the quote was from the Matrix. I almost thought it was from agent smith but was not sure. I knew it was familiar and I knew that the Matrix tried to be somewhat philosophical and have actors express ideas like this. I just did not know for certain what character.
It's from The Matrix Reloaded: The Architect.
