Some people are total idiots. Bush didn't steal anything. He won those elections and these people should just accept it... and try again next time.

Sometimes I feel
Like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry
If you didn't get the hint, go back under the bridge from where you came from.

Well I think this thread has a point. It just shows some people can't be good sports.. you win some, you lose some.
He has a point with the enslaving, segregating, and oppression part if he's refferring to the past.

Would have been a lot more effective stereotyping if you had found some large group or something other then one idiot (supposed)

Funny, I didn't see any mention of the American Communist Party in your posts. (The Democratic Party is in no way left-wing. It's center-right.)
Why don't we just abolish elections? Then we won't have pathetic threads like this.

The democratic party may not be left wing, but certain elements are. The democratic party is also center-left.

Funny, capitalism used to be right-wing. Considering that socialism is center-left, I fail to see how the Democratic Party could possibly be center-left.

I'm a Democrat, and according to our current laws, Bush did not "steal" the election. On my ethical beliefs, I do not believe he should have won, simply because the Electoral College was designed for a weaker and less stable country than we are now. Our nation has progressed, as all things must do to survive, while our voting procedures and rights have not, excepting giving women and minorities the right to vote. Some argue that The Bush Administrations refusal to address the current inefficiencies in the Electoral College prove that they only want to exploit it to force their antiquitated beliefs on the rest of the world. I think Republicans in general are better than that, but some of the Presidential Cabinet's decisions, and the lack of public outcry, have made me begin to wonder.
Anyways, what is the point of all the hostilities between the major parties. The blatant lack of compromise and the vicious mud-slinging do nothing but harm our country, and the world's view of the United States. I honestly think, sometimes, that Democrats and Republicans fight each other simply for the challenge of the fight, and have no care if the outcome helps or hinders our country's progress. Except that people have opinions developed from their own life experiences, and the experiences of the people who are close to them. The may differ from yours and make you angry at the audacity, but it is still their decision, and they do not deserve criticism nor harassment for believing it. That is why we rejected British rule in the first place.

He's not deluded. He is just taking far too much pleasure in the degree of damage that the democratic party has allowed to happen to itself. He has not stopped long enough to realize that without the democrats being a meaningful challange to Republican rule, they will most certainly follow the same path of decline only on a much accelerated scale. Given time, he will see that without oppositon, neither party is worth a damn when it comes to the best interest of the people.

I'll reserve judgment on whether he is deluded or not when he asnwers my question. If he thinks that there aren't sore losers and partisan hacks on both sides of the isle, then I would indeed think he is deluded. Deluded. fun to say.
I really don't agree with the harsh rhetoric they're using, however...
In the state of Ohio, where they had fewer voting booths and long lines in minority neighborhoods and no lines and many voting booths in white neighborhoods, that the balance is not what it should have been.
I do very much agree with that. The tactics used to indirectly and subtly impact the ability of blacks to vote are eerily reminiscent of Jim Crow laws (eg 'must have family voting history to to elligible' meant blacks were automatically barred).

Capitalism has never been right-wing in America. Socialism in the US remains far left. The democratic party is center-left in the sense that it covers the area between from center to the moderate left, with some outliers in the far left.

I think the political spectrum is far more complex. I put socialist at left, and communism at far left. The democratic party is on center-left. I think the political compass spectrum (not the test itself) is pretty decent.

Where would socialism be ... the center of the left ... I think we are getting our terms confused

I use the standard of the rest of the world, not the U.S. The U.S. is shifted greatly to the right, with things that would be center in any other "1st world" countries being left-wing in the U.S. The U.S. is similarly shifted to the "conservative" (Technically authoritarian) end of the social axis.
