Just curious about how many Australian NS'ers there are out there, i know there's a close knit NS community at my school, but havent heard of it anywhere else (except for two geelong girls i managed to get hooked).

aussie here, my aussie friends got me playing, so i know of 2 others,
yes we are a bunch of criminals, lol no only syd melb and tas, adelaide was settled canberra was made queensland was discovered northern teritory is still being discovered West Australia might as well be another country.

yes the dingo did steal the baby i actually know the brother of the baby who was stolen (we called him dingo boy but don't tell him that) and his sister (sister to the stolen baby) is preddy good looking.

No, that's only a scant minority of the population. Most people here are descended from immigrants in later times.

Well, I don't know where you live, but i've never met anyone that can claim convict descent.

Don't feel bad. My ancestors sent a basketfull of captured soldiers' ears to the British. I think there's something in the Geneva Convention about that.

True blue aussie, here. Luckily for me, I play none of that evil, EVIL aerial ping-pong we refer to as AFL/NRL (I hate football, and I always get them mixed up. I also hate cricket... Maybe I'm an 'n! MGO!

Well, I don't know where you live, but i've never met anyone that can claim convict descent.

I can trace my family back to being transported on the 3rd fleet in the early 1800's (1845?). On both my Mothers and Fathers side there are 21 convicts that I am in some way related to. One of them, who wasn't overly bright, got caught stealing an iron gate.

Im sorry, but I find the "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi" chant one of the most annoying of sport.

I remember seeing an England versus Aussie rugby game a while ago. During the game the English spent the game singing songs and all that kinda stuff, and everytime there was a gap all you could hear was "Aussie, Aussie.....". Put me off that forever, if only the australian fans could've used some more initiative.

Also, there are many australians on my ASL thread in my signature. Even tells u what state they are from :D

Aussies are the best, get rid of the poms and the rest. I want to thank the English too for saving all those poor convicts from that horrible cold place, and giving them a much nicer home down here in the sun.

What's so bad about coming from a country that was once used fr transportation or having convicts in your family tree? As I understand America was also used for Transportation for a while. Besides i doubt there are many people anywhere that can trace their family back 8 generations without finding at least one guy who had a brush with the law.

However they stopped Transportstion a long time ago (very shortly after the convicts they sent over started finding masses of gold...) And much of Australias population is decended from people who arrived much more recently with a large first generation population.

As far as i know my first ancestors arrived in Australia on the First Fleet (I have a geneology nut in my family who researches these things) and a couple of others sent over for things like "Being in possession of three stolen geese"

I'm straightedge (alcohol free), into grindcore punk and post-apocalypse films, vegan, hate sport with a passion and live in an anarchist commune named after a Chinese cosmosnaut. So yeah... I suppose I could be proudly called un-Australian (as the government has called my types... but that's a laugh coming from a bunch of capitalists scumfucks when I'm a 'true Aussie' in the sense that I'm an industrial worker).

And yes, I have punched someone for shouting that 'Aussie aussie aussie' slogan... so I guess I'm a criminal. And my greatgrandmother was born on a sailing ship on the way here and married a mining manager. So I suppose that's reasonably Australian. But unlike three quarters of Australians, I don't pretend to be related to Ned Kelly.
