Okay, yesterday I came into the posession of rather great find. A copy of Aliens vs Predator, a game for which I have spent many hours searching for in the racks of Gamestop and EBGames to no avail. Then, yesterday, there it is! Yay! But.....I can't run it. Crap. It's a Mac game, designed for use on Mac systems, and it just wont run on my Windows equipped laptop. At least, that's the only explanation I can think of.

What I'm wondering is if there's some way for getting a game like this, designed for the Mac, to run on Windows. Cause I would really like to finally be able to play this.

Considering it's a relatively modern 3D game, I doubt it...

I'd offer to sell you my copy...but, I like it (even better than AVP2). *covets copy* Try Ebay...it was actually re-released over here as a budget title, so you never know.

EDIT- Here you go, there's a link to buy the PC version here - http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=4843

There is software that will allow you to run Mac OS on a Windows machine, but it would require you to acquire a copy of Mac OS. It would be much easier to just return the game to the store and order a copy from amazon. Alien vs Predator is available for as little as $2.80 used or $6.75 new + shipping from one of the amazon merchants.

eBay, or nearly anywhere else on the internet is what this kind of thing is for. I agree the Original AvP is a high water mark. Good times.... I always played Hicks. Generic badass marine.

Alternatively, you could just snag the PC iso, burn a disk, with a Sharpie cross out Mac on your jewel case, and write PC instead. I favor this route since you already have a license to play the game (mitigating excuse enabling rationalization) and it's low effort (real reason).

Where are you from, Klonor? Most UK games stores with a decent oldies section (Gamestation, for example) will have it. In fact, I think it sells as part of the classics range for about a fiver.

Jersey born, bred, and living. I think the UK is out, I don't plan on popping over the Atlantic just for a game.
