It is 6 AM here in my part of the world, and I have been up for about 1 1/2 hours. I've always been a morning person, but have been unable to sleep well because of pain from injuries sustained in a wreck about 6 weeks ago. I'm getting sick and tired of all this "quiet" time.

Anyway, I was wondering what other people's sleep patterns were like. Do you sleep late, wake up early, nap off and on all day, or just like to go 24/7 until you drop? If you have unusual and/or unwanted sleep habits, please explain why.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Edit: One good result of all of this is that I have lost 23 pounds. Only a zillion more to go!!

Well, I've lost interest in just about anything that used to be fun... so I've taken to sleeping when I'm bored. I manage about 10-12 hours a day.

On a side note: The ideal morning begins at noon. Therefore, there is no such thing as a "good morning".

I have an irregular sleeping pattern, to say the least.

I get up around 4:00 pm..shower, and go to work.

I usually work until about 1:00 am, or as late as 3:00am on weekends.

Sometimes...when I go to bed about 7:00 am, I just cant sleep, and tos and turn..or just cant relax...

So..On my days off..sometimes I dont sleep at all for 24-36 hours, in an attempt to reboot my sleep cycle....never works, really.

i'm in no way a morning person. i hate mornings - they are my nemesis
actually i just hate waking up, and can sleep well into the afternoon happily. my usual is being woken up around 11am to midday, though if not woken i usually go on till about 1 or 2 in the afternoon. 6pm is my worst and i rarely do that :P

however i hate going to bed - sleep is a waste of time, so i tend to put it off as late as i can till i can't function properly anymore, or till such a time as i know it'll affect me the next day if i stay up any longer (typically 4am)

and i don't nap. if i sleep i'm out for hours and god help you trying to wake me up :p

btw, here's hoping you get better and heal up soon, zookey :fluffle:

I tend to stay up till around 2:00 am (I have insomnia) and tend to get up around 11:00 or 12:00 pm (unless I have a pressing early engagement). I hate mornings, and as I tend to feel sick after waking up I more often then not skip breakfast.

Thank you PM. :fluffle: It seems like everytime I turn around they're finding more damage done and now they're talking surgery. I am sick to death of all of this, but gotta do what we gotta do, I guess. Just caught up on the last few days of NS and read where your cat died. I am very sorry. As you know, Zooke is short for zookeeper, and I have a great love and respect for animals. As a matter of fact, we have a stray cat that took up residency in one of our bathrooms almost a year ago and she won't leave. I could ship her to you and you could have a bathroom buddy, too!!

I usually go to bed at about 4 or 5am, because I work late on weekends...

I feel best when I go to bed early, rise early and keep that schedule. I've been nocturnal for about 3 weeks now and feel like crap. I'll get my schedule back in order soon.

Morning? Do y'all go to sleep at night or something?

Just kidding. I'm currently winding down my night shift, which is why I'm awake at this hour. I like mornings, but I like sleep better. :D

I used to go on about 2-3 hours of sleep a night. Then my family doctor noticed that I was going through constant radical mood swings. He referred me to a shrink, and it was determined that I was a rapid cycler bipolar, with a tendancy towards manic. I went like a dynamo all the time and stayed about 20 pounds underweight. The shrink prescibed lithium. I didn't do well at taking it at first because I missed the "high" I was usually on. But, over the years, I have learned that better control of my emotions and just generally being a nicer person, was preferrable. I'm not trying to diagnose, but you might follow up with your doc to see if you might have something similar going on with you.

he he he...right now, I've been running on about three hours of sleep.
This has been a growing trend with me too. Over the past few months, I've been getting less than five hours a day, staying up from nine o'clock to five or six the next morning. I guess I'm just anxious. I go through this every summer...

lol i could train her to pass me shampoo and things.... and use her as a kitty loofah if she doesn't mind, of course ;) :p
our Buster used to love the bathroom for some reason - he didn't get to go in there often so whenever he did he'd start purring something crazy, and would always go to sleep on top of the hot water pipes running under the floor :)

but surgery? i really hope it all turns out well for you - just hang in there and stay strong and you'll be fine! :) :)

I live on something like EST despite being in the UK, so I tend to go to bed at 2am and wake at 10am. This is so I can play online games during the brief window when both US and Euro timezone players are online.

OK, that sounds pretty sad :( , but I graduated two months ago and have little to do in the mornings.

Zoe (aka: Cat in the Bathroom) is very friendly and affectionate. She is just afraid of dogs so she hides from ours in the bathroom. She's also frightened by the sound of the jacuzzi in there, so we haven't been able to use it for months. Oh the sacrifices we make!

I'll be fine...I've been through much worse. I'm just getting cranky because I hate not being able to do what I want when I want.

Hehe, that's not sad. I do the same; the small hours of night are the only time there is anyone online, as it's peak time in the USA. (and it mostly fits in to my schedule, anyway...)

A few weeks ago, I was in bed by 11:30 PM, and awake by 5:05 AM. It was great --- Everybody I know's online at that time, and my dad and brother aren't awake to bother me.

Why "was"? Well, my dad was having... Let's say... "Issues" with my sleeping pattern. Now, I go to sleep at around 3 AM and get up at about 8:45 at the earliest. Total shit, really.

Well, at least you're getting up somewhat early when you go to bed at that hour. When I turn in at 5 AM, I get up at about 3 PM :D.

Since it's the summer, I go to bed at around 2 or 3, and wake up at about noon..

If I had to go to school however, I would sleep at 12 or 1 and wake up at 5 or 5.30.

FUN.

It's 2am now. I need to wake up in 4 hours to catch the bus at 6:30am for my 8am class. Sounds like fun. I got a headache now.
