FINALLY Got A Job!!

Well, another temp job, but at least it's something, and a chance to get my foot in the door with another, different temp agency, and show them I'm a damned good worker, and then maybe they will place me somewhere else...somewhere more permanent.

The weird thing is...the company I'm being assigned to (for anywhere between a week and a month) is the very company with which I started my professional career, sixteen years ago!

I actually worked for this company, as a permanent employee, sixteen years ago...and now I am going back as a temp. LOL.

Good for you. I hope it works out.

Side personal question... was 16 years ago before the change? If so, would anyone there remember?

Just curious.

Actually, the answer to both questions is yes.

My mom still works at a company that was spun off from the company I'll be working for. There are most definitely still people around who know who and what I am...and what (and who) I was, too.

Several people who worked there then...still work there now. And yes, they are likely to remember me, and know exactly who I am. My last name is rather uncommon...I'm no Smith or Jones, I believe my surname is one of the most uncommon surnames in this country...especially the way we spell it.

Nevertheless, I'm not too worried about it. I'm just going to do my job and that is that. I'm not going to be discussing anything about my personal life, or my life choices, with anyone I work with. I have, over the years, learned that it is real bad policy to shit where you eat...and bringing personal matters into a work environment is begging for trouble, so I don't do it.

If it is brought up...and I'm sure it will be...I simply plan on changing the subject. I'm not going to allow myself to get drawn into conversations about my private life.

Congratulations, I'm sure that's a tremendous relief. Hard work does better than sucking up, I'm sure you'll do well with your obviously good attitude.
