I'm not too depressed about Cobain.

I like the Foo Fighters (which never would've existed had Cobain not died) better than I like Nirvana.

Im sick of their Best song. Nirvana rules. Actually, we are kinda lacking on rock threads, so I made this. I could have made a Plant vs Mercury poll, but whatever.

What Best song? The new song, "In Your Honor"? Don't listen to the radio and you don't get sick of good songs. I actually really like "The Last Song" off their newest album, but I also own 3 of the 5 albums....and mix them up pretty good.

Yes, she was also responsible for the Black Plague, the Herald of Free Enterprise sinking and the "Crazy Frog" ringtone.

Alternatively, Cobain was a screwed up junkie who blew his own brains out.

And, actually, wasn't very good a musician. Oh whoopie, an album that rips off the Pixies. He may as well have called it "Smells like Doolittle"

I believe it was a suicide, but I do enjoy the theory about the hitman. There's also the simpler theory that it was murder, but not necessarily by Courtney (though the theory holds that she knows who did it.)

There's no evidence at all except for the hearsay of a junkie media whore (against the word of Courtney, another junkie media whore) so no, I don't think so.

Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana. There is a conspiracy theory that his death wasn't suicide, but murder.

So wait, Dave Grohl DID IT?!??!? YOU BASTARD!!!

Foo Fighters piss me off. Dave used to play the drums as loud as humanly possible in a great band. Now his band pretty much has the kind of "rock" that my mom likes.

oh god tell me about it! i see them every year when i go down to aruba.

70year old elvis, all 325 pounds of him, hitting on the 20ish girl as if he were the "skinny elvis" of 1965.

tupac now sports dreadlocks and plays in a local piece of shit reggae band.

and kurt never did kick that smack habit. he wanders along palm beach in a daze mutting to himself about how the foo fighters suck.

its all so sad.

The Foo Fighters' sound (especially the older albums, and most definitely the first one, on which Grohl played everything except a guitar part on X-Static) is not that far removed from Nirvana...so I don't really understand what you're complaining about...

Also, Grohl has worked on other projects beyond Nirvana, Foo, and QOTSA. There is a ZZ/Various Artists album that Grohl put together. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to that. Also, Grohl played all the drum parts on the Tenacious D album...not to mention the role of Satan in the "Tribute" music video.

It seems like there's something else he worked on also, but I can't think what it is at the moment.

In my opinion, Grohl is one of the most talented musicians of the past two decades. He's right there with Trent Reznor.

Do you think Courtney Love got a hitman for Kurt?

This is utter bullshit that borders on libel.

Gee, is it really so hard to simply accept that someone with severe bipolar disorder (i.e., manic-depression), severe chronic stomach pain, heroin addiction, etc, killed himself?

Is it really so hard to accept the obvious fact that Courtney and Kurt were devoted to each other?

Get a life. Don't try to ruin other people's.

.
The Foo albums, particularly the more recent ones, are a million miles from Nirvana. Nirvana was an abrasive punk band led by a total madman. Foo Fighters are MOR grunge made by talented but utterly ordinary guys.

Yea, but do you really think that Foo would still be around if they didn't adapt their sound?

The first Foo album is A LOT like Nirvana. From there, Grohl started developing more as a song writer, as he had the opportunity to more fully develop his own style. And beyond that, the band started to adapt its sound slightly so they could continue to sell albums.

By the way, some of the Nirvana songs were indeed written by Dave Grohl.

1. A hitman who confessed to being hired by Love to kill Cobain (and was tested with a polygraph - 97% correct) was mysteriously hit by a train after talking to the police.
2. Cobain had too much drugs in his system to roll down his sleeves, put the sheath on the syringe, grab the gun and shoot himself.
3. The shell casing was on the opposite side of the gun from the ejection port.

It's pretty obvious that Cobain didn't commit suicide.

I used to be a junky and at the end of my six year run on the shit, the amount of morphine or heroin I had to put into me just to get an inkling of a high anymore would've killed damn near anyone else except fellow junkies as far gone as I was. If I was stupid enough to relapse and began again at the level I topped out at before I kicked the habit, I be dead very quickly.

Kurt Cobain had access to more and better shit than I could get my hands on, had to have used more junk than I did, I'm sure, and the amounts they're talking about would've been enough to really get my party started. I aced final exams during college while whacked out on enough dope to keep a novice user in happy land for at least a week. If you knew anything at all about heroin, you'd realize that it wouldn't have been all that difficult for Kurt Cobain to load the gun, put in his mouth and pull the trigger. Besides, if he was planning on killing himself (duh, he wrote a note) he would've cooked up the biggest, loveliest, purest chunk of heroin he could get his hands on, in order to have one last really good high before he died.

I'm really tired of hearing people who know sweet-fuck-all about heroin say that Kurt would've been too high to use the gun. I actually brought the point up with a doctor when I was in rehab. He was quite familiar with how much heroin they found in Cobains system, because, given the doctors area of expertise (treatment of the physical symptoms of withdrawal) he'd been asked the question before. He said he'd seen a man walk into his clinic in a state that could only be called hyper, all the while on more Heroin than Cobain had in his system. He figured that while the dose *might* have been lethal, Cobain at that point wasn't worried about ODing and would've well been able to pull the trigger himself.

First, in my examination of kurts death, I would like to know if anyone else knows, exactly where he shot himself with the shotgun.
Also does anyone know exactly what kind of shotgun it was, and all details about it.
