I have a british-born grandfather (my other 3 grandparents were born in NZ)

Do I count? I could play rugby for england if I wanted to (assuming I was good enough).

We shall make it successful!

My family has lived in England for nearly 300 years! And before that? Wales!

I myself have never lived in England, but I have lived in a colony for 7 years, up until it was returned to China. So I may know a thing or two.

I'm also hoping to get into a school in Wales next year..

Personally, one of my favourite things about Britain is the literacy rate. It's very high. Also, the number of people who can spell and puctuate properly and who know the correct ways to use grammar is excellent. Not that I have a point to make or anything, Edmund. Not at all.

I could make my entry the first topic of debate...

Is Northern Ireland to you considered part of Great Britain? If so, I'll apply; if not, meh... I'm studying at either Cambridge or York next year anyway, so I'll apply under those labels instead.

No, not really. It is, after all, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

CURSE YOU! CURSE YOU FOR NOTICING! CURSE YOU UNTO THE SEVENTH GENERATION!

(For the record, the keyboard of my old computer, which I am now using, is very dodgy indeed. Sometimes I have to slam shift to get it to work at all. I'm spending about 4-5 minutes just writing this. I'll need to open it and realign the rubber things soon, and... y'know, rid it of bits of Pot Noodles and stuff.

And typos aren't spelling errors ;))

But yes, I'd be happy to join :)

I'd love to, old chap, but I'm just not entirely sure we have the right to do this in this forum. Anyone has the right of reply, at the end of the day. I think the best we could do is ask that a thread be replied to only, or mostly, by Brits. After all, it's not like you've sampled our political, social, economic views, our relative debating styles or skills, our qualifications or anything in order to create this "think tank". And, at the end of the day, it's not like it has any validity. There may be Brits much better-placed to comment who simply haven't been online in the last hour or two who'll miss out.

And, ultimately, it was your idea; you get threading, boss :p

Yeah, mate, with an average post rate of only around 13 posts per day since you joined, I can tell you're new to this ;) Go on, then, get something started, and try not to make it flamebait, eh? Start small, local. Maybe Anthony Walker, may he rest in peace.
