Apparently there is now a fouth installment coming out next year of the Indiana Jones saga, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas back at the helm, and of course Harrison Ford.
No disrespect to the guy, hes a great actor, but... isnt he getting alittle old?
Hes nearing seventy now isnt he?
I think thats abit old too play an action hero.
What will the fouth installment be called, 'Indiana Jones and those damn pesky kids again!'
Will he be whipping them angrily from the rocking chair on the front porch of the retirement home, as they try to knock his colostomy(sp) bag over?
Please Harrison, dont do it, surely there must be some much younger mucho actor around to take over this legendary series.

But he has kept his age well.

If Ford doesn't play Indiana the film will suck. Who else could play the delectible Mr. Jones. Age has nothing to do with. I'm 20 and still think that Harrison Ford is hot....

You won't think he's so hot when he takes off his shirt, as he has to sooner or later, and shows you what a wrinkled up tortoise he's turned into.
Of course, computer graphics can do wonders now.

Get too excited: I recall an interview with Ford back in *1994* about the 4th installment being about the Spear of Destiny. (The spear in Vienna which supposedly pierced Christ's side while on the Cross.)

Needless to say, they could have made THAT one and three sequels by now... :(

The first Indiana movie was the best, the second one wasnt too bad either, the third one... had its good moments.
But a terrible storyline, overacting by Ford in his role which he carried out much more naturally in the first two films, and a shockingly dull ending.
Hopefully with Spielburg and Lucas back at the helm, the fourth one will return to its best.

I'm wary, because Steven Spielberg hasn't made many good movies since Schindler's List... Men in Black was funny, but not a classic... ditto Shrek. Mask of Zorro was good. Saving Private Ryan? After the third viewing, it looses a lot. :(

Right now he has *11* movies in post production. How much effort is he putting into any of them??

Personally, I liked them 1-3-2... the second one, after they got on the plane got way over the top.

Schindlers List, is possibly one of the greatest movies ever made, and one of my favourites.

Agreed.
Thats why I loved the first one, the action was fast paced and most importantly believable, an important little ingrediant, that just about all action film makers have lost sight of.

it would only work if the movie had indiana jones be about 64 years old. if he had to play young, it would suck.

and if he were 64 it opens the door for some sexy young male star to come into the franchise.

has joaquin phoenix been in too many movies?

Id like to see him in some allyway, old and decrepit looking(Harrison Ford part) just minding his own business, hes fallen on hard times, when suddenly hes surrounded by an ethnic gang, who think he's an easy target to rob,

Gang leader:'yo fool whatcha got under that belt!

Old Indie: something (wheezes) you dont want to know about... lemme through youngster
Old Indie pushes gangleader out of the way and goes to move on.
Suddenly knives flick out and two guns from the gang
Old Indie 'I'm too old for this shit' puts his hands up and makes to go for his wallet in his top pocket, suddenly his hand slips down to his belt and whips out an old revolver which he cocks and rests on the gang leaders forehead.
Old Indie:'Your move sonny...'
The gang backs off and Indie puts the pistol away, but one turns around with a knife and aims to throw it at Indies head, a split second later his knife is ripped from his hand by an earth shattering crack, the gang stares wide mouthed, as the old man stands there wheezing with a bullwhip now dangling out in front of him.
He goes to crack it again and the cowards split.

Old Indie staggers up to the steps of a homeless mens shelter, and collapses from exhaustion on the lowest step where a young black child stares at him wide eyed.

'Who are you mister?' he says

Old Indie grimaces and his eyes seem to look into a far distance, he then utters a dry short laugh, ' you want to know kid?'
Indie then preceeds to tell him about the latest adventure he had when he was much younger, but older than in the last Indie movie.
Movie flashes to Indies younger days where he is played by a new and younger actor.

Hes been in a few, and is indeed a great actor, I think he should have definitely got best supporting actor for his part in Gladiator.
But hes not macho enough for this, he's too introverted kind of for that role.

One of the potential scripts for the new Indiana Jones takes place long after the original 3 movies and involves an older Indiana and his son fighting the Soviets instead of the Nazis, like Last Crusade. I like this idea, because it was a brilliant idea to have Sean Connery pass the action star torch to Harrison Ford in Last Crusade, and it would be a good chance for the producers to annoint a new action star.

Awesome plot idea. But so is the one with Idiana as a father, teaching his son. Maybe it could be his son in the opening, with some gang members coming on him at night in a dark alley, and then it flashes back to the rest of the movie where his dad (Indiana) is teaching him all about being a high-flying patriot action archeologist (since he's not really a treasure hunter).
:mp5: Take that Soviets! The Spear of Destiny belongs in a museum, and if I have to do fight scenes for two hours straight I'll make sure that's where it goes!
