There was Freelancer, which was mediocre at best. got really old after about your third galaxy crossing trade run.

I was thinking more about ones that don't make you pay for their service. I am a college student and like most college student, often broke lol.

Not until the FL community helped mod it up. Mmm, that was one of my most active times as a modder years ago. I still remember creating the Balistner class Levathian ship. Now that one was a biggie. But the Tempest was one of my best designs. Too bad nobody managed to figure out how to create custom collision models until much later. It kind of spoiled things when bullets and what not flew through your hull and out the other side.

Only good mmorpg out there that doesn't make you pay monthly is guild wars.

Yea I may have to find a way to pay for an MMOG. I like The Matrix looks. It looks cool. I hate Star Wars, George Lucas ran that piece of shit to the ground. I'm a Trekkie lol.

EVE online (i think) never played but it gets good reviews (a full playable demo is available).

For a now game try "There" (free download) which is just a wander and interact 3d thing.

Don't much like these things... they take over your life.

DaoC is quite good - interesting graphics, unlimited playability, ever-expanding...expansions...
