I know several people who are afraid of clowns. This has prompted me to ask: What are you afraid of? For me it would have to be heights or deep expanses of water.

i'm afraid of pain. as in severe and physical. also big emotional pain scares me. i'm afraid of rejection. i'm afraid of crying in public. i'm afraid of dying in a way i can't control (falling, breaking my neck, drowning, suffocation) where I know the end is coming and that it will be painful and that i can't stop it. sometimes i'm afraid of the dark. i'm afraid every time i can't find someone. i'm afraid that my aetheist friend will never become open-minded to the fact that he could be wrong. i'm afraid that hilary clinton might become president. i'm afraid of getting another concussion. i'm afraid terrorists will blow up the Arch (i live in st. louis, mo, usa). i'm afraid of being single the rest of my life. i'm fascinated by and incredibly scared of vampires. i'm afriad that something will happen to my 6month old godson. i'm afraid that bungie will let halo be made into a movie and that hollywood will ruin it. i'm afraid that the neighbor girl who hurt her legs and can't walk for a long time will never walk again. i'm afraid of falling down stairs. i'm afraid of getting in a car accident. i'm afraid of CAUSING a car accident.

i can trace almost all of my seemingly irrational fears into fearing for someone else. i'm afraid FOR people, not OF people. i'm afraid that i won't be there when people need me. i'm afraid that i'll let them down. i'm afraid of hurting people in any way. i'm afraid of not being right, especially when it really matters. what's really funny is that alot of people say i'm the bravest person they know.

what i'm afraid of most is that one day i'll prove them wrong.

On the clowns, its the toy mannequins (sp) I have a deep seated fear of, and still do, not so much the live ones, but the toy ones that sit in the corner of your bedroom on a chair and just stare at you with those cold black eyes.
Everytime I see one I get the little goosebumps, and usually back out of the room from old habit.

Clowns. I hate clowns. They freak the hell out of me. One time, I think it was last year, I was in a theme park type thingy and I was looking at a map of the place, and I turn around and there was a clown.. RIGHT THERE.

Speaking of genetically modified spiders, my friend and I decided that "Spabbits" would be pretty freaky. Spiders/Rabbits. If spiders multiplied like bunnies it would be horrible... (shivers). Of course there's the possibilty of eight-legged rabbits that can spin webs... (shivers again).
