In no particular order:
Tucker: The Man and his Dream. This isn't a very well known movie, but I love it. It's the true story of Preston Tucker, a man who designed a potentially revolutionary automobile only to be put out of business by the big three and a crooked senitor. Watch it along with The Aviator; the senitor who goes up against Hughes is the same one who ruins Tucker.
The Sting. Incredibly well plotted movie. There's non-stop action as the various plot lines interweave, leading to a truly surprising ending. Also, Robert Redford and Paul Newman are two of the coolest actors ever. I must make a point of watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid again; haven't watched it in years.
Psycho. If you haven't yet seen this Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece, you are seriously depriving yourself. It's well plotted, well acted and very suspensful. People often talk about "the shower scene", but it was the second murder, "the staircase scene", that really got to me. I almost had nightmares from that one.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. Two of the funniest movies of all time; I can't decide which I like more. They have so many good parts, but one of my favorites is how Billy the Kid and Socrates (pronounced So Crates) try and pick up chicks at the mall, but Sigmund Freud comes and wrecks it for them. Also, that part in Bogus Journey where they fall down that really big hole. STATION!!
1. Princess Bride
2. Supersize Me
3. The Best of Talking to Americans
4. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
5. The Triplets of Belleville

its a good movie, well made with a decent plot; and whats more it makes you think and has a pretty obvious anti-violence (or anti-war) theme. i like it for that most of all :)

5. Gone With the Wind

I'm too lazy to bother narrowing it down to five or putting them in any order.
And the awards go to...
Most Often Viewed By Poliwanacraca: Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Most Utterly Cute: The Princess Bride
Based On One (Or Three, Sort Of) Of My Favorite Books: LOTR Extended Editions
Best Performance By A Blue Blanket And/Or Pigeons: The Producers
Best Performance By The Same People As Were In The Producers: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
This One Goes To Eleven: This Is Spinal Tap
Obligatory Serious (Mostly) Movie That Made Me Cry: La Vita E Bella
Sexiest: Secretary
Forgotten By Me At The Moment: A whole bunch of other very good movies.

No real order, because that would require to much thought:
Evil Cat - Truly wonderful, the epitomy of fine horrible movie making.
Psycho - The only horror movie that actually impressed me.
Usual Suspects - "I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Kaiser Soze."
House of Cards - The height of English Drama and Political Satire [Ok, so its a miniseries, greatness (like a bisexual, transvestite, politically centrist mexican) transcends all boundaries].
The Phantom of the Opera - No, it isn't quite the play, but its still good.
So now I can be mocked for my hideously mutated taste in movies, but I still have a more advanced method of using arrows then you!
The Visitors
Love at First Bite
The first 3 "Elm Street" movies

Meet the Fockers maybe...I dunno... )

2. Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome
3. The Empire Strikes Back
4. The Transformers Movie
5. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
I can't help but add Evil Dead II to the list. And someone brought up Hellraiser... damn, only 5? That's asking too much!
1. A Clockwork Orange
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Brazil
4. Dr. Strangelove
5. Apocalypse Now
Get out of my head!
Seriously, those really ARE my top 5 favorite movies. That's just eerie.
EDIT: Actually now that I think of it, close but no. If Apocalypse Now was Scarface. Then EXACTLY!... But still damn close.
Usual Suspects - "I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Kaiser Soze."
What about:
"So, tell us your story."
"What story is that? That the one about the hooker with dysentary?"
Muahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Fucking genius. Del Toro is the man. He became a god to me when he played Dr. Gonzo.

(1) The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp. 40s propaganda boosting movie made by uber-genii of British cinema Powell and Pressburger (Powell later ended up as Scorcese's cinematographer) which Churchill tried to have banned because of it's portrayal (by Anton Walbrook) of a sympathetic, anti-nazi German. The scene with Walbrook in the police station being interviewed as a foreign alien always brings me close to tears, oh the humanity.
(2) Following the last line of the above review, Heathers. Every John Hughes film of the 80s, seen through a twisted mirror. Featuring both Winona and Christian Slater when they were cool.
(3) Goodfellas - possibly the perfect movie in terms of acting, directing, script, plot.
(4) The Usual Suspects - once got into a near fistfight with someone because i called them an idiot, after we had been discussing this film. They thought the point of the film was "Who is Keyser Soze?". No! The point is, it's an unreliable narrative by an unreliable narrator. It's a story ABOUT story. There might not even BE a Keyser Soze.
(5) The Good, the Bad and The Ugly. Not only is it - level with "once upon a time in the west" - Leone's defining masterpiece, but it also has Eli Wallach, playing the most complete of Leone's "idiot savant peasant" characters. And when i was small, my dad looked like him, so double affection.
