Best Star Trek Series?
Okay, I confessed in an earlier thread that I was a Trekker (And DAMN proud of it!), and saw that there are others.
So, I ask ye of General, what was the best Star Trek series, or at the very least, what was your favorite?
Thanks!

I'm gonna have to go for the reverse: ST:V first, TNG close behind - this is mainly because i've seen almost every episode of voyager, but not so with TNG
DS9 ain't a bad series either. I watch it every day on Spike.

I go in this order: Voyager, Next Gen, and then DS9 (which is okay, but I really only watch it when bored. Enterprise made me very sad inside, and I can't stand the original. Shatner just bloody ruins it.
No 'Animated Series' option? For shame.

If I was to rank them in order of personal taste:
Voyager
Enterprise
DS9
Original Series
TNG

Meh, I found Voyager to be pretty weak. TNG, TOS, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise (the theme song killed it for me.)

You consider that Star Trek worthy?

I personally think that TNG is the best series... DS9 isn't so bad, but TNG owns it... and i've never seen the other's so i can't judge those one's

I'm all about TNG. Patrick Stewart was the best captain ever. None of the others are even close, in my opinion.
Voyager rocked my socks, hardcore. It was the best, by far. My second favourite is DS9. Apparently, those two are the least popular (Enterprise doesn't count). I think it is because they had the most involved storylines. They were best if you watched them religiously. TNG is the most fun to watch a single episode of, especially if you don't really watch Star Trek at all.
I like original Trek mostly because of Spock. It's fun to watch.
Enterprise doesn't count.
I'm all about TNG. Patrick Stewart was the best captain ever. None of the others are even close, in my opinion.Sisko could have kicked Picard's ass in a fair fight, and we all know it. He was the best, followed very closely by Janeway (she could have beat up Picard too).
To me, nothing beats the classic fake-looking set of the original series.
I liked Next Generation too.
The others were good.. except I didnt like voyager.

Same here, I think that the original one had the most realism and the better opening.
DS9 ain't a bad series either. I watch it every day on Spike.
They still play Deep Space Nine? Wow, i havn't watched that in a long time!
I would have to say Voyager, but Next Gen. comes in a close second (though i liked the tribble episode on the original!).

I agree. But Kurk was still pretty good (better than Jainway).

Enterprise- This show was an INSULT to everything Star Trek.
You consider that Star Trek worthy?
No...you for shame...YOU!
Yeah, it obviously wasn't 'Star Trek worthy', I mean it only featured seven of the major actors from the original series, after all... a tiny touch more than DS9, Voyager, Enterprise et al.

What do people have against Enterprise? Admittedly, I haven't seen the last season yet (which most seem to say is the worst), but what I have seen has had very high production values, good storylines and great SFX...not to mention a hot, busty vulcan :D

. . .That is the problem: Berman's solution to every problem seems to be to amp up the cleavage factor. While I have no problem with cleavage in and of itself (hell, half of TOS' audience probably showed up for the miniskirts), I do have a problem when that is used in exchange for decent storytelling. That was something that Enterprise and to a lesser extent Voyager did not have, at least not in comparison with earlier Trek series.
If I had to make a list, it would go as follows:
DS9
TOS
TNG
VOY
ENT
Deep Space 9 was the best for several reasons. For one thing, Sisko rocked (as Q once put it: "You hit me! Picard never hit me!"), although I'd put him as a slight second to Kirk as the best captain (a little better than Picard, a lot better than Pike, and don't get me started on Janeway and Archer). For another, Quark and Odo made the best comedic duo in Star Trek history ever, better even than Spock and McCoy. For a third, it had the most contiguous storytelling of any of the series, with a seriously grim and dark storyline. For four, it had the best overall characters of any series, as even minor characters were fully-rounded and given their due (c'mon, who is cooler as a minor character: Garak or Guinan? How about Vash compared to Morn? I rest my case.).
TOS and TNG came really close because they both had some really great characters combined with some great sci-fi thought experiments packaged as episodes. If they aren't as contiguous as DS9, you can't really fault them for that, as no shows prior to Buffy (soaps aside) did that, and to be sure they were more contiguous than most of the things in those days. I give TOS the nod, however, because of slightly better characters (McCoy and Spock figuring prominently), and because of ever-so-slightly better writing.
What do people have against Enterprise? Admittedly, I haven't seen the last season yet (which most seem to say is the worst), but what I have seen has had very high production values, good storylines and great SFX...not to mention a hot, busty vulcan :DNot to mention gratuitous nudity, badly acted sexual tension... Bad acting all around, actually.
And I disagree about the storylines; they sucked too.

Voyager by far my most favorite ST Series. I have all 7 seasons on DVD :)
The Original Series is number two
TNG number 3
DS9 Number 4
Enterprise number 5 (this sucked bad) However, its first season was ok after that, it went down hill.

Voyager is #1!
then TNG
then DS9 (which i actually quite like, if just for nostalgia apart from anything else)
then TOS
then Enterprise
i just love the characters in Voyager, and the way they have such an endearing story: finding home. thats always a good premise for a story
plus they have some good & unique plots (not that the others don't i just like some of Voyager's ideas better, like the feature length eps End Game and Future's End, my favourite).
Voyager is the least restricted, also, as they can (and do) have pretty much whatever aliens they care to think of, while in the Alpha quadrant TNG and the rest are restricted to certain races
Voyager by far my most favorite ST Series. I have all 7 seasons on DVD :)
damn yous! i got up to series 4 before i ran out of money.
still intend to get the rest :)

Sorry but it took me awhile myself considering how much I get paid at college to actually buy them. needed to make sure I had enough money to survive till the next paycheck.
That was rough but I did it and now I love watching all the episodes in order :)

Mmh. Tough one! (Okay, not really for a hard-core Trekkie like me :D)
1) ST-TNG
2) ST-TOS
3) ST-DS9
4) ST-VOY
5) ST-ENT
Although I must say that I enjoy(ed) watching every single show here's what I came up with to back up my choices:
1) TNG: Has what a good show needs: Variability and lotsa lotsa episodes
2) TOS: Can't beat the real thing but not my favorite anymore (ever since TNG)
3) DS9: Got better after they stopped just sitting on DS9 and waiting for someone to drop by. Had some really good plots towards the end but the crew never really got close to me
4) VOY: Good idea, good cast - had some really stupid plots though
5) ENT: First season, great. After they entered that pseudo-space I kinda lost track of where the Enterprise NX was headed...
NASA did play their theme song as a wake-up song on the day they repaired the bottom of the Discovery, though. That was kinda sweet :p
So what's next? I'd love to see the newly formed Federation wage war against the Romulan Empire!!! That'd be cool, huhuhuhu :D:D:D
Edit: I'd like to finish off with one of my favorite ST quotes: MAKE IT SO!
I loved the on going story of DS9, and it was a shame that TNG wasn't going at the same time to show the effect on them of the Dominion war. Apart from that TNG was the most enjoyable, and I can remember watching it about two feet from the TV when the first episode was on.

Gotta love the Borg! Best alien race in all of ST!
1. DS9 - I absolutely loved this series, and still do. I am horribly deprived, however, in that I have yet to see the entire seventh season. UPN switched it's time slot to a time when I was at work, and so I missed the entire last season...
Hell, it doesn't even matter. Season six alone trumps the other series.
2. TNG - Got me started on Trek, and I loved every minute of it. I think I saw almost every episode on it's first airing (and considering I'm only 22, that means I got off to an early start. :D )
3. TOS - I've seen 'em all, but they don't do much for me. I got the whole TNG style impressed upon me at a young age, and by the time I finally bothered trying to get into TOS, it was too late. I just can't appreciate the relative campiness. It wasn't then, but looking at it now (come on...orange uniforms?).
Movies were good though, especially II and VI
4. Voyager - This show really let me down. I still haven't seen every episode, but I've seen many, and the cast just doesn't do it for me. Some interesting premises, and a good storyline overall, but none of those characters really drew me in.
5. Enterprise - Never saw it, never wanted to see it, never will see it. What the HELL were they thinking?
I'm gonna do the movies too, because I can.
1. VI
2. First Contact
3. II
4. IV
5. Nemesis
6. III
7. V
8. I
9. Insurrection (it only gets knocked below V and I because I have yet to see it. )

Voy, TNS, DS9, ENT.
I've seen very few of the original to be honest, wasn't my time. So I'd not rate it. Too old for me either, can't stand the rubbersuits.
my list
DS9,
TNG,
Voyager,
Enterprise (don't really see it as part of the startrek series.
Kirk & Co
sad thing is, except for enterprise, i've seen every ST episode plus movie. Hell my family has the entire collection on tape

The term Trekkie is sometimes considered derogatory, perhaps because of a perceived parallel to the term groupie. Some Star Trek enthusiasts prefer the term Trekker, while some others hold the latter term to be stupid or pretentious, and, for that reason, self-identify as Trekkies. Some Trekkies even say that a Trekker is a Trekkie who is embarrassed for being Trekkie. On the other hand, Trekker is sometimes used as a term for the kind of Star Trek fan who is obsessed with the fine details.
No - I didn't write the above, it was taken from the Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trekkers) article about Trekkers/Trekkies...in an effort to clarify the difference ^^
I myself used to be a devout Voyager fan, and still am - but recently I've been re-watching episodes of DS9...and I have to admit, I can't identify one clear-cut winner between the two.

Quite honestly, I gave up on it as a bad deal the minute they made the second season of "next gen". All of the modern attempts at reanimation seem repetious and pale reflections of Kirk and CO's intrepid voyages.
Nothing will ever compare to the original. William Shatner may not have been the best actor for the role, but the role itself can never be duplicated or bested.

1. TNG: As a young kid I grew up watching this series and LeVar Burtan, Patrick Stewert, and Brent Spiner were among my reasons for watching it, although I never liked that doc who replaced Dr. Crusher.
2/3. TOS/V: This is is a toss up for me, I mean I spent my preteen years watching Voyager so I have seen almost all of its episodes, but how can you beat Scotty, huh? He was the greatest miracle worker in the history of Star Trek.
4. DS9: I never really liked it, the whole Kira/Odo thing pretty much killed it for me, as well as the addition Ezri Dax, I liked Jadzia better. But, I did like Armin Shimerman as Quark, and Colm Meaney as Cheif O'Brian
5. Enterprise: I saw the first episode, it was on my birthday so the whole family watched it with me, and we all liked it and that episode alone, it sucked from there on out.
My favorite ST quote is "Captain, I'm giving it all I've got."

Voyager had lots of Borg = cool
Don't get me wrong, I liked Voyager...But it seemed like the series "wussified" the Borg a bit too much.
Species 8472...Unimatrix Zero...The Future Janeway that came back with all those weapons...
A Borg cube destroyed by 1 torpedo? I don't care if it's from 20 years in the future! The Borg DO NOT go down that easily! They deserve better!
And yes, the Borg is the best species in ST. With the Klingons as a close second.

The Original Series HAS to be the best. I mean... it was the original series!
I grew up through ST:TNG and I enjoyed that. DS9 was frankly my least favourite although the Dominion war perked it up slightly. Voyager was okay, but I mostly liked it more during the later series. As for Enterprise? I think it's great! 1st season was good, the 2nd just seemed to repeat the 1st but the 3rd and 4th were absolutely the best.
As for the films. The Genesis trilogy are my favourite with ST:III coming out on top.
