Xbox 360 has a better harddrive then the Xbox

Probably all of them. If you have to make a choice, make sure you don't get an xbox 360. Unless you get all the others first, then it's ok. Or if they release a game like Steel Batallion for the xbox 360. That would be okay too.

The PS3 is very good I like the controller that comes with it.
The Nintendo has the best graphics

None of them come out in November...

But PS3 is clearly the best because of the multi-core cell processor and blu-ray discs.

And get a DS if you haven't got one already. They're the rockingest.

Yea, well, they've started the slow process of cancelling projected features from the PS3.

The Nintendo has the best graphics

Considering Nintendo never released details on what resolution the Revolution (sounds funny, doesn't it? :)) will run at, that's an impossible comment to make yet unless you have insider knowledge. So far PS3 is the best, with 1080p support. Xbox 360 has only 1080i.

We all know you can't judge a console on graphics anyway.

Depends on which ones have backward compatibility. If PS3 has it, I'll buy it. If it doesn't, I am not interested. I will probably end up buying Revolution down the road just for the latest Smash Bros. game, and I can't picture owning an Xbox. (Of course, five years ago I couldn't picture owning a PlayStation, and now I have the PS2.)

I'd say it's a toss-up between PS3 and XBOX *Ahem "360". In their rush to be first-to-market, the 360 might not be all that great. The PS3 looks capable of turning the tables on the xbox by offering superior graphics this time. The revolution is long gone from my books, Nintendo never grew up, just got older.

I would love to have both, but since I have to choose, I would go for the 360, which I would then sell to get a PS3 some time next year. Both are backward-compatible (PS3 all the way back to the original PS) (on select titles I think).

P.S. Have a look at this for XBOX (360) graphics:

Anyone else think that Sony will have a huge PSP and Ps2 sale this november?

Revolution
-free online service
-super-backwards compatability(plays NES, SNES, N64, and GC games. Great for playing those hard to find masterpieces or if your older system broke down after 20 years of reliable service)
-small size. Also lighter than the competition.

Xbox 360 in second. PS3 will be too expensive and will have too many features I will never use.

Nintendo Revolution, The PS3 has a bad controller and will be to expensive, and XBOX 360 will just be awsome.

The XBox 360 comes out in November, but I think its stupid to buy systems when they first hit the markets. I'll probably end up owning them all though. But I do I look forward more to the XBox 360, with the PS3 second on my list.

It's too early to tell which is going to come out the better system either graphically or system wise. The things i'll look for are backwards compatibility (and how far back for the PS3), control, graphics, online play and probably most of all cost. But not just cost of the system but cost of the games. Plus, unlike with the PS2, this time i'm going to wait until the price drops at least $100.00 before i go beserk. So even if the PS3 doesn't come out until 2006, I won't be getting that system until 2007 or so. I'm just that broke :(

1st off the PS3 right now is just a dream the Cell Processor is still having problems 2nd the 360 will have a 3 core PowerPC processor runing a 3.6GHz The Cell is gonna be the same speed (little faster but not enough for a human to notice) All of the Processors are co-developed by IBM and they own all the rights meaning they are extremely close in speed. In fact 360 's processor will be better (G5 Mac) The G5 PowerPC processors are right now the most advance. Apple even refused to use the Cell in Apple computers because of problems and speed issues with the Cell. Sony already got caught using fake graphics at E3 and someone already said that the PS3's features are already disappearing (No Hard Drive, Router, Etc.) Sony is expecting the PS3 to cost over $450 ($150 more than 360) and Games maybe more money than 360 (Blu-Ray does't exist right now the cost to make is more than a DVD so profit will be affected unless price goes up) Also 360 is getting support that they never had before so better games will come out. Basically PS3 is using advance hardware to make a system that don't need it (like Bluetooth) Thats stupid use radio Freq. and then they can INCLUDE a Hard Drive instead of selling that seperatly. Lastly Xbox Live will be great anyone w/ broadband can go on weekends for free. And PS3 will probly stop support for 56K (which is good).(NO LAG) (I hate the PS3 Controller way too small :headbang: )

If you're definitely buying a new system in November, I think you have to go with XBox 360, as PS3 isn't due out until Spring 06.

Myself, I'm going with PS3. Sony has already announced that PS3 will be backward compatable all the way to PS1, will still play CDs, DVDs, and now will have BD-Rom (which is what the new PS3 games will be on)...which pwns DVD. And considering the fact that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas used absolutely every single bit of space they could on the DVD, I can not wait until Rockstar (which will not go under) has access to about 40 times as much storage space...

Then, as far as games go...

I like playing my GTAs as soon as they come out, and not 7-8 months later (like XBox and PC, who have to wait).
First Person Shooter (Halo) is a PC-genre, and I've already got Battlefield 2, which will be good for a couple years (hell...Battlefield 2 is the reason lots of people, myself included, finally stopped playing Ghost Recon).
Sports games just seem better on the Playstation, I'm not entirely sure why, and I do buy a sports game every few years. Although, this year, NCAA Football '06 looks particularly enticing and I may have to break my cycle of waiting every few years before I rebuy the same game. '06 was an actually upgrade unlike what football games usually are.

Beyond that, I don't really play console online, so that's not a factor.

And backwards compatability wins it out through and through. I have PSX games that are still classics even if my machines get worn out. With PS3, I already have a game collection from the day I buy the game. With XBox 360, I'm starting from scratch, and that's just to expensive.

By the way, Microsoft has said that XBox 360 will be "partially" backwards compatible. Basically, some of the newer games on the old XBox system will be playable on the 360, but the vast majority of XBox games will not be playable on XBox 360. Oh well, XBox isn't even an old enough platform to have any "classic" games yet really...whereas Playstation will be 11 years old on December 2nd.

When the original playstation came out it had tiny controllers cos japanese people have smaller hands than westerners. The controllers were made bigger for the US/europe release. I still like Xbox controllers better though.

I think the xbox360 will be best cos ATI is doing the graphics an they generally tend to be better than Nvidia, who are doin the ps3 graphics chip. And yes I know Nvidia currently have the fastest PC video card, ATI havent released theirs yet. The cell processor could give the ps3 an advantage but only older PC games are processor limited, and with the fantastic graphics both consoles will have, I can only imagine they will only be limited by the video cards.

If they get the Cell Processing technology functional, I would be willing to shell out far more than that if necessary...

From a Computer Science point of view, I have been far and away most impressed by the conceptual PS3. Preproduction, it looks like the finished product will be in the multi-TFLOPS region, which blows the fastest PCs currently in the market out of the water. It's siding with Blu-Ray technology, which similarly stands to outclass the HD-DVD if it can be perfected. Add to that a hard drive, a Linux operating kernel, networking capabilities and even a (probably limited, but intreguing nonetheless) Software Development Kit, and this thing is every technology geek's dream.

It's just a question of if they can get it all working.

All the reviews I've seen recently have said the new XBOX is NOT back-compatible... or is 'partially' compatible, at best.

Which is pretty much the nail in the coffin, for me... if I can't play DOAX on it, what's the point?

they are going to make it backward compatible with the "best sellers".

They way I've heard it, it seems that only games made LATER in the Xbox life-cycle will be compatible... since they will have been modified enough in the creation process, that the platform doesn't have to stretch very far.

I can't see any other way you can be 'selective' about back-compatibility - either it CAN run Xbox games, or it can't... surely?

And I, for one, am not going to be spending speculatively, in the HOPE that a new platform can support my old software.

So, chalk up one sale to PS3, and loss of sale to Xbox 360... even though the Xbox was the platform I WANTED to buy.

I like my ATI Radeons (I have a 7500 mobile and X700 PCI-Express), but ATI do make just great video cards. But when Microsoft switched from nVidia to ATI in the XBOX 360, but this switch may not allow nVidia-ed XBOX games to work in an ATI-ed XBOX 360. They could have just waited to place super-duper version of the 7800GTX in the XBOX 360.

I was looking at images of Nintendo Revolution.
It looks like my external DVD burner for my laptop
