Has anyone noticed that people lately have been attaching all kinds of conditions to allow you to post in their thread? Like this from Praetonia's "British Empire" thread:



Intelligent answers only please and provide some evidence to back up your answer as well if possible.

I feel it is a totally restrictive burden to require intelligent answers, let alone evidence ! This completely pre-empts the vast majority of my arguments.

And what if, G-D forbid, I just want to make a hit and run smart-ass comment? This stops me dead in my tracks!

I hate this exclusion. I feel so discriminated against. I cried for days when I was not invited to discuss evolution in the "Limited Participation" thread a while back. I had literally thousands of asinine comments on file for that subject. What a missed opportunity!

Then there's the polls who only want your opinion if you're from a certain demographic. I may not be a left-handed gender-specific lesbian sheepherder from Wales, but I might have enlightening opinions on the subject. Now you'll never know. So there.

Well...you don't have to follow that guideline. After 2 to 3 pages all restrictions fail anyway.

I thank you Gartref. I could have said these exact words myself. If only the rest of the NS forum members had the courage to be so honest about their opinions.
