It seemed only right to cover the other side of the "What do you look for in a woman?" thread.

Subtle... yet blazingly honest... :D

What can I say? I'm not looking for anything else at the moment.

Hmm. I like men who are honest, blunt about their feelings yet at the same time caring and who are funny and light-hearted in regards to life. Which is why my relationship with my boyfriend is struggling at the moment - he's not light-hearted anymore, and he's not as caring as he used to be.

I just wanted to wait for somebody else before putting in my two cents. I would like a man to be dominating, but not to the point of being an a-hole. He could have a morbid sense of humor while not treating everything as a joke. I could tolerate someone who's not intelligent as long as he doesn't have a rock for a brain. Be a hard worker, not just a layabout. And never, ever buy me roses. Ever. I'm not real picky about looks, but there has to be some sort of attraction. There's more I'm sure, but this will do.

Not that it's relevant to anything, but now I'm curious. Do you just really hate flowers, or did you have a traumatic experience with a thorn, or what?

:p

When a boyfriend, no matter how sweet and charming, buys you nothing but roses for every single special occasion (b/day, valentine's, mother's day, etc.)
they get old. Roses are beautiful, but I would never want another rose as long as I live. Seriously, put some thought into it. Buying a woman flowers is like apologising in advance.

Ah, okay. Now it all makes sense. :)

For pretty much my entire life, my well-meaning family and friends have been trying to change me; they wanted my hair to be curlier, or more straight, lighter and shorter. They wanted me to have more patience, more tact and following on that I guess less truth. They wanted me to be anything but myself, and since I've never liked being told what to do, I fought them my entire life. I married my husband because he was the first person that accepted me wholly for who I was and who I've become and hasn't tried to change me. I can honestly say that since I've been with him, I've become a better person.
