What made me politically me? I guess reading books, Media an such. Mostly looking at the actions that world leaders take, And the US. Although my political views are constantly changing. Mostly hanging somewhere in between centered, Authoritarian and socialist. But truely I have no political ideaology (or however you spell that word) . I try to look at every issue by itself. Which ends up in sometimes making capitalist moves and sometimes communist etc. Aslong as it lies in the interest of the people.

So many things have attributed to my political beliefs. Education, experience, moral values ( which i suppose would have come from my parents and my schooling) and probably a million other things.

I myself don't hold to any specific ideology - (for want of better political terms) I'm very right wing on some issues, and very lefty on others. I think that's developed from reading / watching a wide range of different media. That is to say, I had opinions about issue x or y in the first place but observing my reactions to events in the press, TV, books et al allowed me to interpret what they meant on a more political level. I suppose my friends, and to a much lesser extent my family, had some early influence on my political beliefs, but that is not really true anymore (my views clash fundamentally with those of my family, except in relation to one or two isolated issues).

Also, I would say the characters and policies of individual politicans that broadly followed specific ideologies would have influenced my opinions of the ideologies in question, though as I say, I don't hold to any particular line of thinking myself.

NationStates. Didn't really think much about politics before I found this forum and now I find myself reading it every day.

I base my beliefs on my own real life experiences. Political orientation is not something set in stone, that you can get from someone elses ideas. It is a fluid orientation that can and should change throughout one's lifetime. Hopefully, as we age and have seen much more first hand, and not according to others, we can all get a bit closer to what, if any, real ideal belief system should be.

I = extremely libertarian anarcho-idealist.

Reason: I tend to reject all authority. I find that government functions best when it isn't there; otherwise, it gets choked up in corruption and bureaucracy. All it's needed for is for national security and defense, and that can be regulated by the community itself. That's been my position since I became a teenager. :D

EDIT: So basically, the correct option is "family" -- but not in the sense it's normally meant. Actually, a rebellion against family.

I was brainwashed by the militant atheist homosexual leftist bloc, of course.

Nah, to be serious, out of those it would be the books and media and such option.

I said my family, but not because they forced stuff on me just because we all tend to agree politically, small miracle. lol so I mean we do read and watch news things together or point out interesting articles to each other or whatever, so yes they influence me, but not in a pushy way. My mom and I love watching the Daily Show with Jon Stewart together. :p

My mates first got me interested in politics (although most of my friends and family are somewhere to the right of atilla the hun) and then through reading. So it's a mix of two. I'm special!
