OLATHE, Kan. (AP) - A high school student convicted of battery for vomiting on his Spanish teacher has been ordered to spend the next four months cleaning up after people who throw up in police cars.


A judge said he considered the boy's actions "an assault upon the dignity of all teachers." The teen, now 17, vomited on his teacher as he turned in his textbook on the last day of classes.

His attorney said the student vomited because he was nervous about his final exams.

But two other students testified that the teen said he threw up intentionally.

The teacher said the student, who was failing his class, made no effort to avoid throwing up on him.

Does anyone else think this is being handled too seriously?

At the very least he could've made the effort to stop.

I mean generally, closing your mouth and turning away would be a good way.

Course I did that once and the throw up ended up coming out of my nose. My nose stung for the whole day. It was gross.

Of course, sometimes I realise it come completely unexpected. Heck, this one time..

Does anyone else think this is being handled too seriously?

I guess if you are a teenager with little respect for yourself or others one might get that impression. On the other hand it is probably very easy to say this is one of those rare occasions where the punishment actually fit the crime.

It depends on the circumstances.
But, to some extent, YES.
I think that perhaps vomiting on the teacher was not his best idea, but cleaning vomit-filled police cars is a rather harsh punishment.

But two other students testified that the teen said he threw up intentionally.

Bodily fluids can carry and transmit disease. I think this was handled appropriately.

He puked on his teacher during Summer School, he was sued by the teacher and the teacher's reasoning was that he puked on him, the teacher, because he got an F on a test or something like that.

A person who uses "dumb" as a pejorative is afraid of mutes, "lame" for people who can't walk, "weak" for ectomorphs.

"White" is used as pejorative of sorts, "How white of you." It means that person has demonstraited certain provincial qualities. It does not mean that ther person saying it (who might well be white) believes all white people are stupid, nor does it indicate a belief in the supremacy of any race.

The misconception that you have any sort of reasonable point at all is nothing short of "retarded." And if you're going to go through the trouble, you could at least be original. Your nonsense came from someone else's pamphlet.
