3) If Democrat: George HW Bush or George W Bush?

4) Original and current stance for the "war" in Iraq?
a complete bloody shambles - could have been executed better. however Hussain was an evil dictator who wantonly murdered hundereds of thousands of his own people, and deserved to be removed from office under human rights abuses; as do many leaders throughout the world...
this was my original stance, and still is.
i didn't like being lied to about WMD, however.

Hussain should have been removed and jailed following the first gulf war.

although, that said, i am opposed to war in general and would much rather a diplomatic solution be reached.

the corruption on behalf of the american administration with regards to this war is disgusting

5) Favorite (not best) President in history? (excluding GWB)
Bill Clinton, though i know little about american presidential history

6) Least favorite (not worst) President in history? (excluding GWB)
Reagan, i think

7) Best President in history? (excluding GWB)
Clinton

8) Worst President in history? (excluding GWB)
god knows. Thatcher! ;)

9) Pro-life or pro-choice?
in-between. pro-choice up till the 19th week when the foetus gains self-awareness and conciousness for the first time. until then it is a bag of advanced cells.

6) Least favorite (not worst) President in history? (excluding GWB)
Truman. A kind of bogeyman for the Soviet children whose grandmothers knew a thing or two about politics.

1) Conservative, Moderate, Liberal, or other?

Moderate/liberal

2) Republican or Democrat?

Democrat, though not actually american

3) If Democrat: George HW Bush or George W Bush?

The older one

4) Original and current stance for the "war" in Iraq?

Originally: didnt care either way
Current: Support the war. Pulling out now would lead to civil war which would kill millions.

5) Favorite (not best) President in history? (excluding GWB)

JFK. Or clinton

6) Least favorite (not worst) President in history? (excluding GWB)

Reagan

7) Best President in history? (excluding GWB)

Lincoln.

8) Worst President in history? (excluding GWB)

Nixon

9) Pro-life or pro-choice? (I wanted to say pro-life or anti-life but...)

Pro choice, although abortion should only be legal before the foetus is viable. the current 24 week limit could mean aborted fetuses could have just been born at that point instead. That really is killing babies.

10) What should we do about North Korea and Iran?

We should assasinate the Nkorea leader.
Irans islamic fundamentalism is so ingrained into their society they are beyond help.

4.Agreed with the War and Still do, troops should remain in Iraq untill the Iraqi government is ready to take over full power.

6.George Washington as he defeated the British Army during colonial times.

7.Theadoor Roosvelt

8.George Washington

9. Pro Life- Abortion should only be alloud if the life of the mother is at risk

10. We should continue discussions with North Korea and Iran over there Nuclear Policy. Send in UN weapons Inspectors and get them to see what they think, but dont invade or anything like that untill we get every single detail. If they Develop Nuclear Weapons then we should make peace deals with them and ask for co-operation. However if they dont have Nuclear Weapons but are trying to develop them, then we should invade and try to stop them before they actually develop them which could cause a major problem for the western world.

1) Conservative, Moderate, Liberal, or other?

7) Best President in history? (excluding GWB)
8) Worst President in history? (excluding GWB)
9) Pro-life or pro-choice? (I wanted to say pro-life or anti-life but...)
10) What should we do about North Korea and Iran?

1)Conservative fiscally, moderate socially

2)Republican

3)Al Gore (as a politician, not as a man... kerry showed more class)

4)Originally, for it to stop saddam, find WMD and free the Shi'a and Kurds; now, still for it... to see that the job is done and that Iraq can begin anew as a free country.

5)Abraham Lincoln... if anyone with less resolve had been in office - especially when the Union generals sucked ass and lost most battles early on until Grant, Sherman and Sheridan came along -- the Civil War might well have ended with the Confederate States of America and slavery intact, especially with all the pressure from Democrats to end the war, to let the South do its thing. But Lincoln's goal was to save the union, and with the great help of the aforementioned three generals at the fore, he did. And whether or not you want to give him credit for being against slavery, the fact is that he gave the Emancipation Proclamation, which outlawed slavery in the united states and freed slaves in writing, if not in practice (this took a long time to happen).

6)Least favorite president? Hmmm... well I haven't really disliked any presidents since i've been alive, so I'll go back to... hmmm... Andrew Jackson. He was the pre-FDR socialist president. Although, I must say, Jackson does strike quite a pose on our $20 bill. hehe

7)Abraham Lincoln (see above)

8)Hoover... while no man can cause a depression in the US, his attempts to fix it didn't work. I'm not for socialism, but for a very short time in our history, maybe we needed it.

9)Pro-life, but not gonna tell a woman what to do with her body. If she wants to kill her growing baby, that's up to her. So in a round-about way, I'm pro-choice. But i am NOT pro-abortion.

10)Turn them into giant parking lots before they harm anyone in the free world. j/k

Al Gore

4) Original and current stance for the "war" in Iraq?
For, however I think we should start pulling troops out within the next two years.

5) Favorite (not best) President in history? (excluding GWB)
Reagan, however I am from Britain so can I also say Margaret Thatcher.

6) Least favorite (not worst) President in history? (excluding GWB)
Lyndon Johnson, howver I am from Britain so can I also say Tony Blair.

7) Best President in history? (excluding GWB)
Reagan

8) Worst President in history? (excluding GWB)
Nixon

9) Pro-life or pro-choice? (I wanted to say pro-life or anti-life but...)
Pro-life

10) What should we do about North Korea and Iran?
Wait a few years, see how it develops, however if it carries on like it is I think we should invade

1) Conservative
2) Republican
3) Both would raise taxes through the roof and create an All Welfare State which we can't afford.
4) I supported it then and I support it now. Saddam was a Modern Day Adolf Hitler despite what some Liberals may tell you.
5) Ronald Reagan
6) Bill Clinton
7) Tie between Reagan and Lincoln
8) Tie between Jimmy Carter and Lyndon B Johnson
9) Pro Life 100%
10) What should we do about North Korea and Iran? Interesting question. For one I believe North Korea is blowing smoke. It's the short man syndrome idea. Kim Jong Mentally Ill just wants to be recognised that's all. I agree with the 6 party talks. But if it came down to it. We could take our their defenses in two days. Don't let anyone fool you, their missile technology can't even reach Hawaii and nor is it reliable. That comes from someone who will go nameless who was in the Air Force for 30 years as a high ranking intelligence officer and someone who has worked on Missile Defense systems. Iran however is a different beast. They would use the missiles. We can't talk them out of it. We would have to give them money and other things I believe we shouldn't have to give them. The peaceful way is to somehow encourage the underground and somewhat quiet movement for real Democracy in Iran. There has been such a movement for a very long time. I think if those people begin to really revolt, then the U.S. should intervene in any possible way, including Missile strikes on Nuclear targets.
What it really boils down to is to ignore the United Nations. They have no say in our laws and actions. Our Constitution does not recognize them as a part of our system of Government.

1) Conservative, Moderate, Liberal, or other? Green
2) Republican or Democrat? Green (I voted Democrat last election but I'm not doing that again / I vote Green in European elections)
3) If Democrat: George HW Bush or George W Bush? GHW Bush
4) Original and current stance for the "war" in Iraq? It was a big f*cking mistake but we can't pull out now that we've made it.
5) Favorite (not best) President in history? (excluding GWB) Jimmy Carter
6) Least favorite (not worst) President in history? (excluding GWB) Andrew Jackson
7) Best President in history? (excluding GWB) George Washington
8) Worst President in history? (excluding GWB) Andrew Jackson
9) Pro-life or pro-choice? (I wanted to say pro-life or anti-life but...) Pro-choice (I'm not anti-life since I'm not pro-abortion. I'm for abortions being allowed, not abortions being done)
10) What should we do about North Korea and Iran? Iran: Let the Europeans do it and don't mess things up. N. Korea: Don't back down. NK needs to be dealt with in silk gloves since they might be able to nuke US cities.

1) Conservative, Moderate, Liberal, or other? Other-libertarian. Cons and Libs think they should use governement to enact their social agendas and I am against the Government doing that. Moderates don't get anything accomplished but like to say they do.
2) Republican or Democrat? Republican-more libertarian of the 2
3) If Republican: Al Gore or John Kerry? Gore I guess. Voted for him in 1988 Pres. primary when he was one of us normals. They both represent ambition without a cause. Very shallow and power hungry. Not genuine.
4) Original and current stance for the "war" in Iraq? Originally-Felt we were still at war because Hussein had broken truce and he should have been removed sooner-like before the Gulf War ended.
Current-Still feel that way. Think Syria should be next.
5) Favorite (not best) President in history? Reagan
6) Least favorite (not worst) President in history? Carter
7) Best President in history? (excluding GWB) Lincoln
8) Worst President in history? Carter-He's also the worst ex-President. He was the best ex-President up until he negotiated a nuclear reactor for North Korea.
9) Pro-life or pro-choice? Pro-Life
10) What should we do about North Korea and Iran?

N. Korea would destroy Seoul and S. Korea if an invasion were attempted. I don't know how to deal with a state that has literally nothing to lose. They don't value human life so the status quo (starvation, negative economic growth) is OK. Whatever they can negotiate, no matter how minor, is an improvement over what they have now. I don't have any idea.

Iran-Foment a revolution. The people there are ready and willing to do it. Give them the resources they need to take their country back. Provide US military help at the right moment and it could be over quickly.

9) Pro-life or pro-choice? (I wanted to say pro-life or anti-life but...)
10) What should we do about North Korea and Iran?

1) Most people would call me a moderate, but I'm more of a radical in both directions.
2) Democrat.
3) George H.W. Bush, at least he had some sense to him.
4) Original: Their aren't going to be any WMD's. Saddam stop looking for military supremeicy after his ass was kicked in /91.
Current: Why the f**k do they alway talk about 9/11 for this war! The truth of the matter is it's not about terrorism, it's not about liberation of the Iraqi people (who were much more free under Saddam then they're going to be now that the American hand picked pseudo democracy is in place), and it's not even about oil. It's about the genocide of the muslim people. Think about it, bush has invaded 2 muslim countries already and is targeting two others because they might want powerfull weapons, whereas Christian states all over the world already have these weapons.
5) Clinton, that guy could get away with anything.
6) Lincon, he gets all this credit for freeing the slaves, when in fact he never wanted to. He said if he could end the civil war without freeing a single slave he would.
7) Eisenhower (sp?)
8) Nixon
9) My personal opionion is that life shouldn't have a magic reset button, and everyone should have to live with the mistakes they made. However, I don;t live in Mexico so I don't vote on the president of Mexico, I don't live in Toronto so I don't vote on the mayor of Toronto, and I'm not a woman so my views on abortion and the like aren't important. In my experiance, the oinly people who seem to oppose abortion are men and old women (past their child bearing year) and almost every young woman I've talked about this to seem to be pro-choice. So although I don't agree with the idea, I can't possibly understand the kind of pressures facing young women, so in a country run by me I would support the right to choose.
10) Not a dam thing. The US doesn't have the fight to oppose people for being almost as bad as themselves.

Diplomacy with Iran. Somehow get a new leader in North Korea. Assassination would be nice, but as we learned Fidel Castro the US is not that good at assassinations. I think somehow showing the population how bad they have it would be the best action. They hear so much propaganda that the citizens think they live in the best country in the world.

Thanks for making this all about the USA, too. From the location polls that I have seen the most people are from the UK, then Canada, then the USA.

Hitler merged the offices of Chancellor and President and can be counted among presidents, although it is technically incorrect.Well, yes, but the US president merges the offices of Head of State and Head of Government. In Germany at the time, Hindenburg was Head of State (Reichspräsident) and Hitler was Head of Government (Reichskanzler). Hitler merged the offices, but never took the title of President. So, he was never a president, although he was a Head of State.

Monarchy and republic are mutually exclusive (although the UAE is a weird case). They don't, but they did in the case of the third Reich, since a republic requires elected representatives. The nazis made away with that hated aspect of the despised Weimar Republic.

However, the UK is a constitutional Monarchy, which is a republic and a monarchy. The head of state is the Queen, though she is a figure head (much like the German Bundespräsident except that her office is based on inheritance and not on elections)

A republic is a government form in which the population elects representatives to make legislation for them. It comes from respublica which means "business of the public", which has nothing to do with non-hereditary statesmanship ;)

All those countries had (or have) elections so the public is busy. And if we are into 'dissecting' origin of words--a monarchical state can have two heads (William III and Mary II of Great Britain, for example). IMHO judging the forms of government upon that is meaningless.

Well, yes, but the US president merges the offices of Head of State and Head of Government. In Germany at the time, Hindenburg was Head of State (Reichspräsident) and Hitler was Head of Government (Reichskanzler). Hitler merged the offices, but never took the title of President. So, he was never a president, although he was a Head of State.
I'm sorry about the confusion, so let me explain myself: Many many countries have presidents that aren't called exactly that. Comparatively few nations use the word.
While I realised the questions were compiled by an American, I assumed that the American in question either wouldn't be bothered to differentiate between the jungle of titles, or didn't know America only accounts for a tiny part of the world's nations, history and population.
Much as I'm inclined to think the latter, I decided to give him/her the benefit of doubt and go with the former.

Unless the both of us are misinformed, Hitler was a president for all intents and purposes. It just wasn't his title.
Hope that clears it up :)

-As far as North Korea is concerned, their leader is a psycho and I don't think talks will do much good. He's like a child who always wants attention and will do ANYTHING to get it. I don't think launching a full-out attack on his is wise or safe, but he can't get away with the crap he has been getting away with. Let me think on this...

nah, that's a representative democracy. it often overlaps with republics but isn't what defines them.

It comes from respublica which means "business of the public", which has nothing to do with non-hereditary statesmanship ;)

actually, it's res publica, "the public thing". the idea is that the state is a thing of the public, as opposed to a private thing of the nobility or the religious leaders or whatever. but it isn't necessarily elections that make it a public thing. and certainly not elections by the plebs.

3.) George HW only because he had a higher IQ

4.) My stance on the war well to be honest at first I was against it, but then I realized that no matter what the Jews, Muslims, and Christians are indeed all going to kill each other and as an aetheists who thinks there's an overpopulation problem I really don't give a damn anymore. So hey go at it guys! Keep up the awesome work!

Sorry, misread question, Between GHWB and GWB, well snr, but he should have been nutered at birth!

4) Original and current stance for the "war" in Iraq?
On principle I have no problem with the topling of evil dictators, however I thought this war was stupidly sold to the people of the world and the simple message that appealed to American sensibilities only served to disprove the case to the rest of the world. Moreover as a Francophile I would like to say I told you so, you should have listened to older wiser leaders. Finally, because America is (vertually on its own) bogged down in the Iraqi quagmire tyrants, like our onwn beloved Professor Mugabe, have been allowed to act unchecked by the fear of military intervention. Kind of like it don't matter how big your sword is, as soon as it is buried upto the hilt in another man you are vunerable.

5) Favorite (not best) President in history? (excluding GWB)
I'm presuming you mean US, which is not fair, JFK or Bill Clinton - or Robert Kennedy, the president that never was. British, well there is only Cromwell, Zimbabwean, that would have to be Cannan Banana - because he is not Mugabe. In the world, well De Gaulle probably as he reshaped his nation in his image, out of the dispare of WWII and pulled two fingers to America annexing Western Europe.

6) Least favorite (not worst) President in history? (excluding GWB)
Again, I'm presuming you mean US, which is again not fair, Nixon. British, well there is only Cromwell; Zimbabwean, that would have to be His excellency, the right honerable Professor Robert Gabriel (motherf****r) Mugabe. Globally would be Mugabe, but there are some strong contenders: Hitler, Starlin, Nixon, Musoline, Idi Amen etc etc

9) Pro-life or pro-choice? (I wanted to say pro-life or anti-life but...)
These are too Americancentric notions, I'm a pragmatist. I beleive in the death penalty only for treason and crimes against humanity because what is the point of throwing away perfectly good perpetual labour force, for those given the death sentace for other crimes, when they could get life hard labour. I am pro-choice on abortion, because not giving the choice will result in more deaths as desperate women use unorthodox/illegal/dangerous means to prevent giving birth. I'm pro condom and pill, because the Chrisitan powers that be are wrong! I beleive in the right to bear arms, but regulated and rationalised.

Regarding those who have complained about the questions:
If you are not an American, the only questions that you could not answer are 2, 3, and possibly 1. The 'war' in Iraq has had a global impact. For 5-8, it does not say "American president". There have been other presidents. Question 9 refers to abortion, not the death penalty, which I should have specified. Question 10 is also a global concern.
