Altona? What does that stand for?

I know it is a suburb in Hamburg, and used to be a Danish enclave.
Coincidence? I think .... maybe.

Freemasonry is not a religion "assmaster"!

I am Catholic, in my lodge we have Muslims, Christians and a couple of Jews.

I know of Hindus in the craft.

The races are mixed with Anglos and Phillipinos making the majority of the group.

We practice peace throughout the brotherhood of man.

So you guys are organised in enclaves like that? And your enclave sits in HH-Altona? Awesome!
Or should I say: Moin Moin? ;)

There's an Altona in Melbourne, it's one of the western suburbs.

But seriously: Aren't you guys supposed to keep a low profile?

My Father, and Uncle and their Father and I think Grandfather are/where all members of the Rite.
You don't have to keep a low profile as far as I know, they used to have to, in days of witch-hunting but I think the censorship is vastly toned down now. If I'm right, your not allowed to disclose which degree of Masonry you are at, unless you reach the 33rd. Probably wrong there though, my family have never talked about what degree's they are though.

Im not a freemason but I would seriously doubt that is the case since such a high proportion of freemasons are community leaders. Also, seeing as they give out scholarships and stuff.

Some choose to keep a lower profile than others, however the organisation is quite active in our community.

There is the Freemasons Hospital which is open to all people who need medical attention http://www.fmh.com.au

The Freemasons Homes which are aged care facilities.

The Dallas Brooks Hall, a convention centre in Melbourne.

The Freemasons also fund raise for charity, I collected for the Royal Childrens Hospital on Good Friday.

Others take part in the Variety Club Bash, a road race of sorts where the objective is to raise money for children with disabilities rather than speed.

The church says Catholics can not be Freemasons. As a Catholic I was welcomed into my lodge, but as a Freemason I will not be welcomed into my church.

The Eye on the US Dollar is not something I understand, perhaps a higher degree than I am in.

The Pyrimid and eye is a masonic symbol meaning knowledge but I have no clue as to why it is on currency.

Read Angels and Demons (Dan Brown hyperbole) to find out a flimsy rationalisation for the pyramid and the eye.

I despise the fact that the majority of the world leaders belong to these obscure groups. It seems like, us the little people, will forever be ruled and controlled by those who belong to these groups.

Seriously though, aren't you being a little over-zealous in your condemnation of Masons? Powerful people will always band together and make fun little schemes for world domination, but the minute it's revealed some of these powerful people are Masons everyone thinks it's a conspiracy!

Ooooh, some rich people are in a society that gives lots of money to charity! The horror!

Me, I want to join the secret society from Eyes Wide Shut, that looked like lots of fun...

Free Mason's arent' interested in charity. They are interested in continuing their domination and control over society. They elect presidents and they shoot presidents, they educate you and they they marginalize you, they entertain you and they bore you.

The triangular symbol means precisely that. The few on top controlling those on the bottom. This has gone on for centuries.

I refuse to discuss this subject matter in a lighthearted and jokingly manner.

... some of the "founding fathers" of America were freemasons, as well as a lot of congressmen, etc
( see http://www.bessel.org/foundmas.htm )

Also, as a matter of interest, 10 of the 25 Australian prime ministers since federation have been freemasons.

You have a fear of what you clearly do not understand. You see collusion where there is none and choose to bad mouth people with no proof.

Freemasonry is about humanity living together in peace, not by force but by understanding one another.

You and I are equals. We are born and in the end we die. What matters is what we do in the time we are here.

All Freemasonry asks is that you treat others well by promoting peace, participating in charity and by remaining honest in all your dealings.

Ahh... I am trying to become a mason. I just don't know fully who to contact. I am gonna see if I can just give a call to the Grand Sovereign Lodge of Puerto Rico and ask for the G. Secretary to help me out as I don't know anyone in the lodge of my city. I know that to be one you have to ask one - if I only knew one. My grandfather was a mason, but he died and never told me. For the only reason I found out was a certificate I found claiming he's a free and accepted mason, dating back to 1946.

However, I am gonna give you a simple explanation: If someone who happens to be a freemason, gets elected governor, when he is told "You need to choose the members of your cabinet" he will, as any governor, choose people he can trust, people who are like minded, and so on... then everyone is claiming a friggin' conspiracy because they are all fellow lodge members, but nobody notices that the previous governor's cabinet were all childhood friends from school and were jerking off each other at age 14.

I have also a little homework for you people. I took the list of masters of the lodge of Patillas (Thats a small town in the south of the island) from the web, and started googling their names out. The founder had 20 years before been mayor of the town. The second man, was a mere school principal. The third name was state legislator... the fourth name was mayor when he was mastering the lodge. the fith name was a relatively obscure civil servant from the Labor Department who later died in a car accident.

Notice something? There are the important leaders that control the town, and at the same time, people who although of a respectable profession, are not exactly the wealthy landowners who own half the town, to say the least. The only pattern is basically that all were people of a good reputation in the town.
