How to Start Your Own Country

...by Danny Wallace.

For those who don't know, Danny Wallace is a comedy writer and a very, very strange man. In the past, he has travelled the UK looking for namesakes of his flatmate Dave Gorman, and has started a cult (Join Me) which now has thousands of followers worldwide. Dave Gorman, as well, has toured the world looking for googlewhacks.

But now, there's a new series on BBC by Danny Wallace called How to Start Your Own Country about exactly that. Personally, I'm looking forward to it, but seeing as this is a game of virtual countries, what do you think about owning your own little dominion?

I think it would be quite interesting...I know that my brother is always on about it. I shall be watching the program, certainly.

Yes. Simply to declare war on the U.S. and see what happens.

Well, define the word "club". Last time I checked it meant a collection of more than one person...

I hope they don't adopt any leftism. You know how those American sponsored terrorist death-squads feel about leftism.

Yay, UDCP! :)

Which reminds me of three things.

1. There's a wrong link somewhere that needs fixing. I think I sent you an e-mail... Tell me if I didn't.

2. Could you put in those links someone suggested to pages on communism, in the Ministry of Culture page?

3. The Minister for Foreign Affairs is going to be unable to check his e-mails for a month. Starting about now. Is there any way to put a note up somewhere informing people? ;)

ah yes, ok, i'll do it tonight... i fixed a different link earlier today :p

oh and if its of any use to you i could try and set up for your UDCP.org emails to be forwarded to another address, like hotmail. though we should probably discuss this on our forum and keep the hijacking to a minimum :p

Nah, that's fine. My main e-mail adress is spam-infested, so the udcp one is good to have as a seperate one. Thanks anyway.

/hijack ;)

England for a while (family), then off to Cuba with a friend. My first trip across the Atlantic. :)

Yes. Simply to declare war on the U.S. and see what happens.

I haven't seen it, but the film The Mouse That Roared is about a tiny fictional European country which declares war on the US after WW2 for Marshall Aid to revive their economy.
