He is a christian fundamentalist. He just have the decency to not push his religious views unless asked for them. If only other christian fundamentalists had this laissez faire attitude.

I was busy helping a Muslim friend deal with some legal issues...all turned out well...and then I was in a horrendous wreck...things are getting better. I hope to be on here more as time goes on. When was the last time anyone heard from WL, Oksana, and Peechie? No clues that they were leaving...just poof?

People can be deceiving. My husband was Marine and he rattles off all kinds of stuff about this gun and that rifle. :rolleyes: The closest thing to a weapon that we have in our home, though, are the kitchen knives and a pack of ankle biting dogs.

Hmmm. Weird. He has never come across to me as a particularly devout Christian, nor a fundamentalist. And his views on guns have actually swayed my own a bit, to the point where I don't support registration:)

Peechland was in the process of moving all the way across the USA. She's checked in once or twice, but I haven't heard from her lately.

She's now completely moved. She's at a new job (second day of employment with this new company) and still looking for a decent home. She'll be back on soon i'm sure. I'll let her know that she's missed though. She'll like that. Unless she's not missed and then i won't tell her a thing.

I agree. He doesn't come off as a bullshitter.

There was a series of gun rights debates raging when I first arrived here at NS. Since that's a subject dear to my heart, and possibly the only topic which can tempt me to loss of anger control, I looked around to see who my new friends and allies might be before I rolled up my sleeves and entered the fray. WL's writing style, factual content, and generally self-controlled attitude elevated him above most of the debaters in my view.

I thought he always added something to any topic he posted on and I liked his style. He's a straight shooter and I hope he returns, this place is better with him than without.

I've been changing jobs. I'll still be in the DC Metro area, but my job will be even more relaxed (if you can imagine one more relaxed than one that allowed me to post on NS all the time).

I've been peeved by the London bombings, and even more peeved when hearing any politically correct opposition to profiling, or opposition to cracking down on radical Islam. I knew I would hear that sort of thing on NS, so I've been lurking and not posting - I didn't want to get involved in any flame wars (you know, sometimes it's best to sit on the bench for a bit and let other people throw turds at each other).

So, I'll be a bit calmer soon, and will resume posting.
