I know there are several people around who either currently work or have worked as waiters and waitresses. And I know there are all sorts of horor stories of revenge on rude customers.
So my question is what is the best way of dealing with poor service without getting a nasty surprise?
(I ask because a fairly new waitress - three months - at one of my favorite restaurants is just utterly incompetent. Fortunately, it appears she'll be out of there soon.)

If she is soon to be replaced, just live with it. Especially if she is a nice person, but just a fuckwit.
In general however, if you are not happy with a restaurant, don't go back. In the US, kitchen staff can do quite awful things to food sometimes, especially if the waitress is cute.

That's the problem. We're talking about one of my favorite restaurants. Otherwise I would just quit going there.
Anyone with wait staff experience?

Try sitting in someone other waiter's section and be patient. Almost always when service is slow it is caused by someone being sick and so they're a member short.
