Uhhh....no its not. Its original Ren & Stimpy, its Rocko's Modern Life, its Salute Your Shorts, Pete and Pete, etc. 1990s Nickelodeon had some pretty awesome shows.

Oh, btw, I heard Nickelodeon was gonna be putting some of the older shows onto dvd sets by season to test how they sell and if they sell well, they'll put all the older shows into dvd sets.

the original all that was better, like the original snl was god compared to what it is now, now All That is lame with all the people who THINK they are big stars getting their own shows, like Amanda Bynes, she ripped off all the All That stuff. And what happened to Kenan and Kel? That wasn't that bad, neitehr was "Are you afraid of the dark?" I have seen reruns of that very occasionally, but its always that episode with the evil ghost living in the pool hidden under the school

I've never been graced with old SNL. The current SNL is pretty hilarious to me. WAAAAAY better than MadTV.

****ing MadTV, where each and every skit is someone acting like a retard in different scenarios.

I've seen Best of Chris Rock SNL DVD, it WAS pretty good. I loved how looser the network strangle on the show was.

Though when I get the chance, I'm gonna get those Best of Chris Farley/Sandler.

HOORAY!!!! Such a fun show.

When I was a kid, Nickelodeon was pretty much just 10 hours of Pinwheel and Nick at Night didn't exist, so it went over to "Ha!" (Precursor to Comedy Central) after around 5pm.

Of course ... this was before there was such a thing as MTV ...

I saw the original SNL once or twice on E!, its great. Coneheads? Skit by original SNL. Blues brothers? Original SNL. It had craploads of bigname stars for the past couple decades.

The episode I caught had a coneheads skit, even the people in the skit were trying to not to laugh at the utter ridiculousness of it

The premise is the coneheads go over to their neighbors for brunch of something. And the coneheads sit on the couch and jsut start devouring chips, I mean throwing chips in their mouths. The neighbors arep layed by Belushi and some female I don't recall. Well after staring at the coneheads trying to eat the wife goes
"Hon, why don't you bring out your latest invention" or something to that affect then "He works for a hair salon" or something
So he comes back and is pulling with him one of those driers in hair salons that cover teh entire head. The coneheads freak the fuck out and say something indiscriminate I don't recall, run around the couch three times and DIVE out the window on the side of the "house." The lady that plays the mom conehead had problems diving out and had to crawl out of the window. When teh coneheads freaked out it was all belushi could do to not collapse on the spot, he cracked up after the camera panned out from the skit

I hate All That now, and I've forgotten almost all of what the original was like. As I said, I don't watch Nickelodeon anymore, haven't for a couple of years. I'm just waiting for Family Guy to roll around on Adult Swim here again in an hour to see the puking scene in the episode in which Peter sells Meg to Mort Goldman.

The only thing Nick is good for now is "Avatar: The last Airbender" which should be given to cartoon network out of pity. And if you havn't watched avatar, you should watch it, I think they play it on saturdays..sometime, and fridays around when the good shit comes on on sci-fi -_-

Ha, I remember some good old All That skits, though few and far between. "Repairman"(man man man...man man...(voice fading)), done by Kel. In addition I distinctly remember Kel's poem about orange soda from Kenan and Kel. "Who Loves Orange Soda?"

Now, it could just be me, but I'm pretty certain Nickelodeon went down the crapper with Spongebob and nobody seemed to have the plunger. Although, My Dad The Rockstar is an alright show, just cuz KISS rocks.

Oh, and does anyone remember that show WIld and Crazy Kids? That show was fun, that and Figure It Out, with Summer Sanders. Man...she was hot...at least then. Dang I'm getting old when i start reminiscing about friggin nickelodeon. Oh, I got slimed once on U-Pick live when I was 14 on my birthday! It was sooooo awesome! Tastes good too.

I remember a very young Alanis Morisette was on it. I really do miss it, sometimes.

Another good show apparently broadcast on Nickelodeon and TCC is Mysterious Cities of Gold (http://www.mysteriouscitiesofgold.com/frames.htm). I still remember the theme song in both its English as well as French versions.

English Version (http://www.mysteriouscitiesofgold.com/wav%20sounds/Mysterious%20Cities%20Of%20Gold%20(theme%20).mp3). The actual theme song starts ~42 seconds into this file. It's really worth the download. I'm totally nostalgia tripping...

Haha, awesome! :D You don't happen to have a copy of the music available, do you? I play the tenor saxophone, and since it and the trumpet are keyed the same I can play it with ease! What a great piece for my friends to hear!

I don't remember Pete & Pete very well since I was kind of young and as such wasn't my type of show. I remember I always liked the one, though, where the younger Pete rode a riding mower to try and escape to Canada. :p And another where the younger Pete rode through all four of America's time zones to experience New Year's Eve four times. Heh.

And they do need to make DVDs of all of the old cartoons! Nickelodeon's like Seinfeld in the fact that it took their respective companies so long to make compilations of all of the episodes. They need to make Rocko, AHH! Real Monsters, and Angry Beavers (a side note: I used to be able to emulate Norbert's "eeeeeeee!" noise perfectly) all onto DVDs.

As for when Nickelodeon started to go down the crapper, I remember not liking Rocket Power and the newer episodes of Rugrats. I think that everything made since then has been crap, especially when Klasky-Csupo started squirting out series after series (Rocket Power, As Told By Ginger, etcetera). Then came Spongebob...

The channel would be wise to bring back all of the old stuff.

Oh gods. Talk about a stroll down memory lane...

I was homeschooled in an interesting program from the 5th to 8th grades, where I didn't have to actually do all the work - just give my 'best examples' in each subject, and do good on tests. Pulled the tests off easily, did my 'best examples' all in one day, and had the rest of my time to myself.

...which was nearly nothing to do because I didn't know anybody, and I didn't have the Internet back then. Not that there was much on it for a kid my age, back then >.<

So, basically, I sat in front of the TV, and the Big Glowing Box raised me.

...this isn't a trip back to the past. The past is charging into the present on the way to making certain that it's in the future, and meanwhile is knocking down all the mental barriers of age and time that have locked up my memories...

What Would You Do was the BEST SHOW EVER. =D

Oh man, it makes me melt when I hear about 90s TV shows... "culture" if you will. The 90s marked the peak/start of the decline of television. So much fun stuff to reminisce about.

I didn't have cable, so I only watched FOX, UPN, WB, although I watched Nick at my grandpa's (ahh, nostalgia) because he had cable. He also had a SNES (I didn't have any game systems at home, either, which was/is a drag.)

To add to the list of Nick shows:

aahhh! real monsters
are you afraid of the dark?
clarissa explains it all

Ah, I remember the shows...
Doug, Rugrats, Rocko...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned "Are you Afraid of the Dark?" That scared me a couple of time when I was a little kid. Especially that epsiode with the weird Red skull thing drowning a whole bunch of kids.

Double Dare
Legends of the Hidden Temple
GUTS

All great shows that I miss dearly...

Anyone remember that one science fiction one, from days back? No clue what the title was anymore, but it was a non-cartoon one...

All I can really remember is that there are kids on a spaceship... I think they stole it from their school or something, and got lost in space...

And some chick ended up in another dimension, maybe...

I think I remember that show. And the ship was shaped like a giant bird or something, right?

Anyway, yeah old Nickelodeon rocked. I used to watch it all the time back when my family was poor, and I was too young to understand that. Pete and Pete, Ahh! Real Monsters, old Rugrats, Roko’s Modern Life, Doug, Salute Your Shorts, Alex Mac, Clarissa Explains It All, old All That, Kenan and Kell. Good shows.

They still have All That. I loved Clarissa Explains it All. Oddly enough, my parents did, too. Also LOVED Rugrats. Go, Nickelodeon.

Oh wow... you guys have sent me for a nice nostalgia trip... Ah... 1990's nickelodeon was awesome. I miss the good old days... Doug, Rocko, Ren & Stimpy, Clarissa... all those awesome shows. Sure, they still have "All That" airing, but the new ones really... REALLY... SUCK. But then again TV sucks in general. That's why I play video games. At least you can choose what you play. :P

Meh, not like they air anything good anyway. None of the current TV media interests me, except for the Simpsons, Family Guy, and Futurama. :) Can't go wrong with those choices.

I was 7 or 8 while I was watching these shows...mind you.

"Welcome to The Good Burger, home of The Good Burger may I take your order?"

:p :D I watched when I was your age to. Also the movie Good Burger is pretty good too.

Hey, Colodia, if you want I can get you a torrent for the Family Guy movie. I haven't downloaded it yet, but I've heard it's good.*

* I'm not actually going to give you the link because ninjas hate pirates. And I'm a ninja. And ninjas don't pirate things.

But while I'm at it here's a sneak peek:

I just got the first season of Clarissa Explains It All and its AWESOME. Really brings back memories. Anyways if you have Direct TV, there is channel named Nicktoons and it plays old Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life and Kablam. And Invader Zim which is my absolute FAVORITE!

"They climbed aboard a mystery ship; which soon fell through a spacial rift, now they're on a long strange trip"

Then it went in to descibe the characters.
"Someone Zan, leaps before he looks,"
" 'Female Character' is smart, read a million books"

Thats for the scifi show people were askin' about, all I remeber from the theme song.
