The greatest place ever

There are NS players all over the world, I am wondering where (in the real world) the best place you have ever been to is? The excitement of New York City?? The mystery and tradition of Ireland?? The great wall of China?

Just to get this started, I have a teacher here in St. Louis, MO United States of America(a graduate professor of Political Science) that seems to love Belgium. He has written several books, and takes a few months, travels to Belgium, and does his writing there. I don't know about the atmosphere, the history, the people, or what it is that makes him go there, but the whole country seems to serve as his muse.

What is the best place ever?

Haha, I bet St. Louis never makes it on this list.

My favorite place I have been was Chicago. Rotenburg in Germany comes in second place.

I quite like the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden. (http://www.scantours.com/ice_hotel.htm)

The Absolut bar was fun, the sauna was great, the rolling around drunk and naked in the snow afterwards was best of all.

My wife and I went to Cancun, Mexico for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely amazing... Given I was a honeymooner so i was apt to have fun, but the place was amazing, so warm, so tropical, so all-inclusive...

Hey, Belleville is not that bad. I still get to work in St. Louis and hit up all the clubs, but rent is cheaper out here.

A wee small village of a couple of hundred people up in the Argentinian Andes called Caspala....absolutely beautiful place, and lovely people too. I imagine it would get boring after not very long, but we only stayed for 2 days before we had to carry on with our hike.

Auvergne (http://www.auvergne-centrefrance.com/accueil.htm), France. The Fête du Cochon is a riot, and Saint-nectaire cheese comes highly recommended (de moi, bien sûr).

I love Roman history. I felt like a kid in the candy store in Italy. So Italy would get my vote as my favorite place to visit.

What is the best place ever?
My answer is in a song:
In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby[...]
(In other words, my own mind, or a world of my own invention) But...
[...]don't say I'm out of touch
With this rampant chaos, your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
The nightmare I built my own world to escape

The greatest place ever?

Well, I admit I quite enjoyed my road trip down the Pacific Coast Highway in California (views AWESOME, side trips to see attractions WONDERFUL, people friendly beyond belief and food AMAZING!) but... the greatest place ever is....

MY HOME! :D

Everything's set up just the way I like it, no one bugs me about eating/drinking near my computer, the furniture is comfy, the food is great, and it smells good... not like OTHER people's houses... ;)

Austin, texas. It's not crowded, but still has civilization, it's not filled with hicks, and is beautiful year round.

Las Vegas, casinos galore....... actually, anywhere with a casino gets my vote.

St. Louis has quite a few good ones, (especially Ameristar)

Ugh, you really don't want me to post my winter pale ass anywhere!

Also, the pictures would be too illegal under the rules of this forum, and definitively too naked for me to have them anywhere close to the Internet.

Anywhere in Italy....wait i'm supposed to say the best place i ever BEEN. so techinically i haven't actually "been to Italy" but really if i actually HAVE been there it would be the best place ever (please ignore ramboling i've had an unexplained additction to all things italian since i was 5)

Um the best place i ever been probably would be a tie between The bahamas, Freeport to be exact(i love islands) and Baltimore (its the greatest city ever!)

I have to say one of the best places I've ever been to is a small village in Costa Rica named Tortuguero...it is lovely...it is on a piece of land where to its left is a canal and to its right is the Caribbean-breathtaking views and crystal clear water:D

annoying.

Kotakinabalu, in Malaysia, is really nice and beachy. As is Penang.

If you prefer the city Kuala Lumpur is nice as well.

Oh!

I don't really know where, but one time I went ot Hokaido during the winter, and my father rented ou this cabin near a frozen lake. It was so beautiful, the snow and everything. It was the first time I ever saw snow. And, if you go there in the winter there are deer and foxes about, and you can do all sorts of lake-y activities.

Nagoya is really pretty, especially if you go when the cherry blossoms are blooming. It's absolutely gorgeous because there are cherry blossom trees on both sides of some roads.. Ugh. I loved it.

The greatest place ever has to be Hong Kong. Everything is cheaper than everywhere else where there is a full, robust, financial settlement. We speak English, dislike second hand smoke, and are generally nice people. :)

The Weather is so plesent they have a big River one of the largest PArk systems in the World.
Colonial Style buildings.(We have them some too but only because were cheap and the ones we have are rundown)
We normally destroy our Heritage yet spend a lot of time deciding if we should or not.

Mostly the Weather
Yeah for 45 Degrees Celsius

Can't decide between four places; it's a difficult decision when there are different reasons for each of them.

Smoky Mountains, North Carolina/Tennessee, USA
Gaming, Austria
Ravenna, Italy
Austin, Texas

New Jersey. It's conveniently located within easy reach of New York City and Philadelphia. It's a wealthy state. It's got nice beaches, woods, and farmland as well as city life. It's got a rich history and interesting local legends and folklore. It's multicultural.

There's nowhere I'd rather live, although other places are nice to visit.

i haven't been to many places in the world, but more than most people i know (in RL of course ;)) and, being quite the chilled out, laid-back, gentle hippie type i just love the relaxed atmosphere of both Amsterdam (and Holland in general! or at least from what i saw) and San Francisco :)

that said the "mountains" and hills of Wales are pretty damn beautiful... then again i'm a sucker for mountainous landscapes

Two places contend: A party I went to on the outskirts of Hammond, Louisiana. That was awesome.

And San Antonio, Texas, specifically a little place called Boudro's that has the best grilled salmon that I have ever eaten. The nightlife on the San Antonio Riverwalk is also very nice. Very pretty and peaceful. There are also some really nice clubs. One has several levels: 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, where dress and dance must be appropriate to the design and music. Kinky.
