Your Favorite Dish

One really interesting thing about being perscribed steriods, is that your appetite shoots through the roof. So naturally, all I've been thinking about is food (it's even replaced thoughts about sex...). I'm so crazy, I've been looking up Klingon dishes, and I've found them appetizing (especially the Heart of Targ).

So, let's discribe our favorite dishes!

To start out, I like something "cheesy". So, a fresh plate of cheese-sticks with some hot marinara sauce is my usually appetizer. I've been a fan of seafood for a while now. I usually go for white-fish, like haddock. My favorite way to prepare it is to batter and fry it just enough so that it has a satisfying crisp, while not sacrificing too much of it moistness. It needs to be piping hot, because fish should be savored. As much as I love french fries, the best accompanyment to this in my opinion is a heaping portion of seasoned, hot mashed potatoes, with the skins left inside to add contrast and texture. A cold beverage such as beer (or Coke if you prefer non-alcoholic) is a must. To wrap it up, nothing fancy, something straight-forward like a chocolate frappe' or smoothie is the best desert.

Mmm...

Well, that's not just one dish, that's a three-course-meal, isn't it?

Ok, let's see what mine would look like:

I think I would make a Cream of Mushroom Soup to begin with. I invented that recipe a few years back, and neither I nor anybody who ever tried can get enough of it. I would use wild mushrooms (boletus, chanterelle, slippery jacks, something on those lines), preferably self-picked. Chop them up real fine, then chop an onion just as fine. Glaze the onion in some melted butter, then add the mushrooms. Fry them for maybe 5 minutes, then add chicken or vegetable stock and cream. Season with Salt and pepper, a touch of curry and some Sherry. Then it needs to simmer for at least 15 minutes, so the mushrooms will release their flavour.... Trust me, you'll think you've died and gone to heaven.

For main course, I would go for Saltimbocca a la Romana. Some veal cotelets (without bone and as thin as possible) sprinkled with salt and papper and a little lemon juice, place some fresh sage leaves on each of them, then cover each with one or two slices of smoked ham (Parma if you want it posh ;)) Stick the layers together with skewers, then fry each cotelet for 3-5 minutes on each side. Take them out of the pan and keep them warm, pour some white wine into the pan, some cream and season the sauce with salt and sage. Serve that with Spaghetti... mmm

If you feel up for dessert after this, I would suggest warm apple pie with cinnamon and a scoop of vanilla ice cream....

And stop drooling on the keyboard ;)

Right: Favorite food:
I don't know how to spell the name, so I won't bother...
First, you take 1 kg of ground beef (about 2.2 lbs) and fry it in a pan that you treated with some kind of oil. Continue doing this until the meat is nice and brown and most of the water is extracted. Then you salt and pepper it a bit and add "Tomatenmark" (tomato marrow?) and a good dose of Ketchup. Add "Maggi Fix für Spaghetti Bolognese" (it's a Spaghetti sauce mix). Then add liquid cream and schmand (I don't know if that word exists in English, but I couldn't find any other translation. It's a hard, creamy dairy product).

Serve with noodles :D

I also like fried potatoes with little pieces of bacon and fried eggs sunny side up :p
