That's crazy. Nobody here has done anything about it.

plaintiff Florence Cohen claims she was "damaged" after learning of the sex minigames hidden in San Andreas, as she had bought what she thought was an M-for-Mature-rated game for her grandson

She needs a good slap...she was happy buying a game for her grandson that engaged in endless violence and swearing....but as soon as there's any suggestion of fully clothed computer generated sex, she gets all uppity.

Silly yanks! You're supposed to find violence acceptable and sex deplorable, not both!

So what exactly did the characters of the game do? If they had clothes on I don't see how it could be that inappropriate.

From what I understand there's a MOD out there that shows em having hardcore sex with their clothes on.

How the fuck can it be hardcore when they are fully clothed?

That's even before I get to the fact that it's CGI.

Not even very good CGI at that.

First: Rockstar did this to themselves, and unfortunately the rest of the industry. They should have been up front about the minigame.

Second: Oh no! They can't show the ads? How will anyone know about the 5th edition of the most popular video game thats all over the news? How will they go on...

You think the US is having some sort of population control programme?
Video games and movies are allowed to have really graphic violence and mass murder, but if it contains sex! OMGWTFBBQ IT MUST BE BANNED!

Nonsense. The minigame wasn't an easter egg, it was only accessable by screwing with the code. You have to hack the game to find it.

I really don't get this.

What is so graphic if they are friggin fully clothed? Please explain.

It doesn't help me be mad at this issue since Hilary Clinton is supporting it. I hate Hilary.

It's the principle of the thing. We all know they don't need ads. But it's the principle of the thing.

That old lady has ensured Rockstar an extra ~$30,000,000 it wasn't expecting - and it might only cost them $5,000,000. That's a pretty cheap and super-effective advertising campaign, especially considering that they might end up not paying anything for it.

This nation needs help badly. I can't believe such a big deal is being made over this, given the nature of the rest of the game.

Don't buy that for a second.

This isn't some patch that makes Lara flesh tone, this is a full on minigame of fuckin'. I don't mind it being there, I do mind trying to act innocent about it being there. Where is Rockstars balls? It's pussyfooting to get it into Wal*Marts and to get away with something without taking into consideration the effect on the industry. It was short sighted of them.

try again. This may have been hidden in there, but you have to hack the game to get at it. What part of altering the code don't you get?

The local Video/game rental had it on shelves to rent and buy not a week ago, i went today to pick it up and its been taken off. They cannot sell or rent any games rated Adult, even if it had previously been available. THIS IS FUCKING REDICULOUS.

I took a look at the coding. You need to replace several script files for it to work. I also took a look at the script files. Its not something you can just edit with a txt editor. Some proficiency with SCM file editting is required, and most likely a specific program not bundled normally with most OS's to open it.

Given the level of expertise required. I'd say that the term "hacking" is appropriate.

Of course the Soccer Moms wouldn't understand it at all. I don't expect them to.

It's one thing to hack a game to make it do something it really isn't supposed to do. It's a whoooooole other thing to hack a game to unlock something that is already in there. It's the fulcrum on which blame tilts.

I would put the blame on oversensitive people who want to live in a sterile world and are easily swayed by the premise of a moral crusade.

Then you'd be surprised at what comes out of Japan nowadays. Really surprised.

I would to, and if they had been upfront and unflinching about putting that in the game I would have proudly come to their defense.

But they didn't, and they weren't.

Do you really think Hillary Clinton cares about the sex minigame? We've been looking for an excuse to crack down on this videogame series for the past 3 years. How were we supposed to do it? Violence? There have already been violent video games out there, so we couldn't use that as an excuse.
We've had to bide our time for years, waiting for Rockstar to screw up. We knew it was only a matter of time before they did something to incriminate themselves...the very nature of what they do is anti-authoritarian and envelope-pushing. This just happened to be it.

Ugg, some people just need to be taken in the street and beaten. No, violence in computer games did not lead me to this conclusion.

But it's perfectly common practise for programmers/developers to leave content on discs, even if it isn't going to be included in the final product. There was some ruffling of feathers among fans when it was found that Jade Empire (Ech... I can't remember, it was either JE or KOTOR II) had some dialogue and such on the disc which wasn't in the game itself.

Also, this isn't something you accidentally come across. This isn't something which you're not informed about when buying the game. This is something you actively have to seek out the instructions for opening, and put a good few hours into actually unlocking, by all accounts. You can't even get into it on the consoles without having third-party hardware (GameShark and Action Replay kinds of things.).

I still don't buy that. It's not like the Gameshark is a new thing, it's not like code hacking is a new thing. It's not like they didn't know it was there and didn't know someone was going to find it. It's irresponsable, and all this fiegned innocence does is make them look like a twelve year-old trying to weasel out of owning porn by saying it belongs to his friend. It's pathetic. And it has given the nanny's something to grab onto that they wouldn't have had.

To me, its not Rockstar's fault. To me, its assumed that you accept everything that comes with the game. Not to mention that this an extra thing, which requires you to go out of your way to find. Its an added thing. I do not know about you guys, but I like it when more comes with my stuff when I buy it.

I tell all of the parents out there to stop being so stupid ignorant. Wake up and take a more active role in your child's life. Today parents do not care.

And besides how can you sue over something like that. Rockstar did not cause you physical pain in any way or did anything against you. Not to mention that I see ads on TV that only talk about sex. Viagra and all other sorts of sex drugs. Come on sex is everywhere. If you do not want to allow it in video games, then take it off of TV and on buses. Thats right Viagra is advertised on buses to my knowledge.

It is Rockstar's fault for imbedding it in their software...bu I still think videogames are being discriminated against. Compare the swearing and violence in a M-rated game with the swearing and violence in a PG-13 rated action flick. Exactly.

She's just still upset after Monica Gate. Hillary is now after all Americas mother superior!

I'm sure its the notion of to simulated characters grinding off one another, the violence all around is perfectly fine.....just sex is bad.
