Americans’ views of Islam warming (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8715423/)

Encouraging, but there's still a long ways to go.

I think it would make more sense to find out how Londoners opinions of Muslims changed after 7/7 than Americans.

I think it would make more sense to find out how Londoners opinions of Muslims changed after 7/7 than Americans.Unfortunately, in too many cases, they're changing in exactly the way the news media want them to change.

Most sensible Brits of my acquaintance can handle the complicated idea that "Muslim" is not the same as "terrorist" - no matter what religion the terrorist claims to follow.

This is certainly a good thing. However, I still maintain that "Muslim" or "Islam" should not have been connected to "terrorist" in the first place.

Are Americans actually being commended for not flying into an irrational frenzy of rage?

New lows are reached daily.

One step at a time, man.

One step toward expatriating, anyway.

Think of it as teaching a kid logic. They don't know anything at first and then gradually they learn, you have to smack him a couple of times, but he learns, or becomes retarded.

I disagree, its discouraging to find acceptance and tolerance of any religion increasing.

But you are a crazed atheist. Those of us who prefer a 'live and let live' philosiphy are happy.

I find it discouraging, to find tolerance and acceptance of a "live and let live" policy also. How far ideologically and ethically does your belief in this policy extend? If I may ask.

** EDIT

I am not an atheist either.

What in the world are you saying? Do you think religions should not try and co-exist?

I am not an atheist either. Then the word 'nihilist' has no place anywhere near you. A nihilist believes in nothing. Therefore, a nihilist is by definition an atheist.
