I am an A's man myself, but I've gotta admit, the Nationals have really impressed me. I'll be severely disappointed if anyone says the Yankees. So VERY disappointed.

I used to be an Expos fan, still am really, so yes i am cheering for the Nationals. It would be so Ironic if they won their division in their first year, a kick to Montreal , a city that never supported them. But i'm not bitter, no :gundge:

Of course they'll win their division! They'll win the World Series, too. It's the same phenomenon that occurred when the Nordiques moved to Colorado.

I'll be severely disappointed if anyone says the Yankees. So VERY disappointed.
Why? I was born in New York City, I've lived in the New York Metro area my entire life. My dad has been a Yankee fan all his life, even in the 70's and 80's when they kind of sucked. I've been going to the stadium since I was an infant. I still like the Yankees, even though they're mediocre this year. I'll always like them, even if they suck.

What's wrong with being a fan of a team which has been recently successful?

I also always liked the Cubs and Expos (and consequently the Nationals).

Why? My dad was raised in NYC, and loves the Yankees. His love for the Yankee's rubbed off on my brothers when he used to take them to Yankee games. I cheer for the Yankees, mostly because if I cheered against them my family would never talk to me again :).

The Washington Nationals.

I USED to be an Orioles fan. I'm starting to learn to hate them, but it's so hard when Brian Roberts is so damn hot!

I've been a Cubs fan since I started liking baseball. However, they seem to be doing poorly this year. Oh well.

I've been a Yankee fan since 1972. I couldnt really care less about people that dont like them.
My father worked in the Bronx, knew a lot of people and got me in to meet many Yankee greats during my childhood.
My wife's family is related to Derek Jeter and we have seen him at a few family events.

Although there is huge rivalry, as a kid I liked Boston too-my father and uncle were friends with Rico Petrocelli-they grew up together in Brooklyn-I have a picture of him signed by him to me and a baseball as well.

I'm still a Yankee fan.

Because I'm for Bump City A's, man. We don't like you 'cause Giambi's a traitorous bastard. It's the same reason I don't like the Cardinals. Freakin' McGuire...

Why not blame A's ownership (and most of MLb for that matter) for not investing the money? The Yankees can buy all those players because Steinbrenner was willing ti put in his own personal fortune to the payroll. Most owners merely put in a prtion of the profits.

Oh Boo-Hoo. Tha A's threw away some great hitters, and now they go and throw away some of their pitching. That's management's fault, not ours.

Although I hate Steinbrenner, just as much as any Yankees fan. He's wasting money on aging stars and not working on developing talent in the minors. You don't win with people past their prime.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, so naturally I'm a loyal Pirates fan.
Raised in Houston, TX, so the Astros are another team I like.
But now I live in Sacramento (AAA Affiliate for the Oakland A's), so I go to the Rivercats and A's games.

I also like the Giants, but that is *only* because I'm National League raised, and still HATE the desinated hitter.

Even with Halladay in the starting rotation. They don't have the pitchers...
J.P. Ricciardi is a genious... let him work becuase in 4 or 5 years we'll be right up there with the yankees and redsox as the team to beat. We need another Halladay and two other guys to go with Chacin. IMO. The hiting lineup is okay.
Pitching is what wins you games.

I also like Boston and Arizona a bit, same with the Cubs. The Washington Nationals seem pretty interesting, I hope that they're somewhat successful, as the capital of the United States really should have a baseball team.

My most despised teams are (in order): The Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees.

The Texas Rangers and the Anaheim Angels are also not among my favorites.
