Migranes

Do you get them? Why? What do you do to get rid of them?

I get them. Sometimes because of eye strain and other times I have no idea why. I used to get them 15 times more until I quit eating meat. Then I lessened them even more when I quit ingesting caffine. I went from having migranes several times a month to only a couple times a year. I have one now at work which I have had for two days now. Although it is diminishing somewhat. Barely got a wink of sleep last night until my fiancee remembered that she had one last vicodin left. Then I got some shut eye and had a dream that I was hanging out with Dave Chapelle and we were having fun by making up new ways to avoid the paparazzi.

I had my first at an amusement park in England, came of a roller coaster spewing everywhere !

Then I used to get them all through high school and had to repeat 2 years because they were effecting me that much, I was on so many different medication eventually tried acupuncture and other herbal remedys.

Then I visited a specialist in London and he explained I should grow out of them It wrecked my education and the school never beleived me and threw me out before I could sit my highers even though I had a note from one of Britains best migraine specialists !!

I use migraleve pink and yellow tablets, pink stops you being sick and yellow is a very effective pain killer for them.

OMG And I thought I had bad luck! Need a hug? :fluffle:

I was just at a clients who said that he had migranes really bad and his neurologist said that many people get them from a lack of REM sleep and gave him some pills to help with that. He doesn't get them anymore. I get plenty of REM sleep though so I must have different issues.

A thing to try would be use plenty of pillows in your sleep so your heads tilted more to allow your nasal tubes to be more open.

It has helped me a little and for a few friends it has worked perfectly.

( I had loads of nasal sprays at one point as they thought this was the cause )

Hope this helps ;)

I either wake up with them, which means I don't surface from my bed until about midnight, or have about an hour's warning due to the blindspots. Basically for me they feel as if someone is hammering a railway spike through the left front of my brain, I just lie there feeling like I'm going to die and panting and yowling like a dog. Not fun.

Causes for me? Stress, red wine, being unhappy and then not eating or sleeping properly for a couple of days. The weird thing with stress is that I am okay when I am stressed or worried about things, but once that worry is over and the things I was worried about are passed, then I'll get a migraine a day or two later.

Codeine does little for me, but migraleve do seem to be reasonably good.

Thanks but I don't have trouble sleeping.
