I vote Patrick Moore.

His anti-immigration/racist* tendencies rule him out as 'cool' in my book.

How about Arthur C Clarke instead or Jack Williamson?

EDIT: Pete Seeger probably gets the cigar though.

My Granndad!!!

No, seriously.

He is 76, live in Colorado on a ranch, tends to it himself, owns horses, owns a Mule (the golf cart thingies), goes camping, takes 12 mile hikes regularly, recently celebrated his fiftyieth aniversery with his wife, has a house that has stuff like a musem, has traveled around the world (Africa, Tibet, Antartica, South America), and, most importantly, owns a jeep and has no problem with letting his 13 year old grandson drive it.

A substitute teacher I had last year named, I kid you not, "William King Cool."

He's 79, he mountain climbs, works out, is about 6-foot-6, has three degrees, in computer science, business administration, and mathematics, and substitute teaches so that he can gather material for a book he is writing about the current state of the school system.

William Cool.

gotta say Maurice "Moose" Cote. he's my grandfather. he's fluent in french even though he only speaks it maybe once every couple years, he was up to 450 lbs (which adds some to the cool quotient), gave me small amounts of money :D , and he just about the funniest guy i know (his eccessively insulting sense of humor has rubbed off on my entire family and has come to be refered to as Cote-joke). you'd have to meet him. age wise, he just celebrated a 50th anniversary

I want to see that movie, looks awesome. Anyway, I go with Oprah, she's pretty old, 50....or Jerry Seinfeld, he's 50, too...

Awesome film. I bought it as soon as it came out. The art on the case makes me smile.
