Don't these people have better things to worry about...like Iraq...or the Social Security Crisis...maybe the deficit?

Leave my video games alone! :headbang:

*sighs*We need to line up those 300 odd politicians, and smack each one, and then say , "Do something productive!"

You need to kick it over and emplace a better system of governance.

I wanted a video game, not eternal damnation in hell (http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=ticket_to_hell)

This is about as useful as a tit on a tractor. Oops, better cover that tit lest the Congresscritters and the religious whackjobs try to ban it. ;)

Damn, I was going to post the Maddox article. He's right, and I like his "pixels of moral decay". :D

One step at a time, one step at a time, lol.

Though it would be sad/funny if the America underwent a revolution which resulted in the overthrow of the current government and institution of a better one...all because of a video game.

Then again, us gamers are the ones who have spend years or decades with the belief that the good guys always win, despite the odds, and that a party comprised of the right characters acn take on any evil. =D

Politicians get hard ons for issues like this. Traditional morality is broken, the public is poorly informed, and the results of their actions are minimal.

Most of the outcry over "mature" videogames is coming from the left side of the spectrum... i.e. the Democratic Party. Oh where would we be without Senator Clinton and Senator Lieberman looking out for our nations youth!

Eh, I don't think being a Demogogue excludes them from whackjobdom.

Of course we are also the ones with the crack sniper, automatic and small arms weapons skillz from our FPS's, and the strategic and tactical skills from our strategy games.

So we are the perfect ones to take down the US government. Seriously. If da House is going to "take a stand" against Rockstar, I say it's time we take a stand against the House and demand that not only do they stop censoring EVERYTHING, but also that they use thier time for shit that actually needs the attention of a national legislature. Hell, our taxes are paying for them to investigate Rockstar games... that's just sad. It ranks up there with the million dollars spent researching the correlation between cow flatulence and global warming. No wonder we are 2 trillion dollars in the hole.

And am I the only one who hates Hillary Clinton even more because of this shit? She better not run for president in '08, I tell you.

Rockstar brought this on with thier arogance and short-sightedness, they let the nannies through the door. SA was the fifth itteration of one of the best selling video games of all time. They should have been upfront about the content (this is in regards to the mini-game. They could have even still been coy. "It's AO. You'll know why eventually..."), gave the finger to Wal*Mart and worn that AO rating like a badge. Wouldn't have been an issue.

But no. And now out come the nannys. Thanks Rockstar, I wanted a rubber baby bumper world.

It was irresponsable for them because it's not just going to fuck them but anyone else who wants to make a game for adults who don't want to raise Pokemons...

As I have said before. With an entire sect of a religion wishing our demise, with thousands of Mexican criminals coming across the boarder every year, and with gangs of kids shooting each other in the streets, I’m glad our proud politicians have decided to focus on video games.

What a bunch of fucking hypocrites. These crooks start wars, shaft taxpayers and support murderous kleptocracies all around the world, but are ready to take a moral stand against a video game where, with the aid of a complicated system of cheats and hacks, someone can have consensual, heterosexual sex.

I also think it's pathetic that in a game where you can deal drugs, murder people at will with all manner of weapons, slaughter police and military personnel and, most ironically, have sex with prostitutes (but without seeing pixelated boobs,) the moral outrage appeared when two characters had consensual sex. There is a mission IN THE GAME that you MUST BEAT TO FINISH THE GAME where you murder a clergymen for a pimp. Apparently that was just fine with Hillary Clinton, but when that girl invites her boyfriend over for some sex, it's all "think of the children" and "what is wrong with our society?" We killed 100,000 Iraqis for no reason, and it took some video game characters having sex to generate an examination of our society's values.
