Personally i believe monty python to be the greatest bunch of movies and television humor in history, and i was wondering:
Whats your favourite monty-python movie?
(you are of course VERY welcome to argue for or against any monty python movie as you please)

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

"We are the knights who say 'Ni'"

Best little skit from TV was the fish dance :)

Another vote for Holy Grail here. Life of Brian was very good but it cant beat the Knights who say Ni

The Meaning of Life was just weird, not all that funny in general. New series soon :D

Personally, i 'd also have to go with "The quest for the holy grail", though "life of brian" is a strong competitor too :)

"we request a white shrubbery" -- genial :D

i like that The Holy Grail got so many votes :D
my favourite too, especially the scene with the murderous bunny!
"Bring forth the holy hand-grenade of antioch!"
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

but life of brian is hilarious as well, of course!

oh, and BTW: What is your favourite Monty-Python Character and Favourite Actor?

The dead parrot skit, no question!

"The bloody parrot is deceased, he's expired, he's suffled off this mortal coil, he's joined the bleedin' Choir Eternal." :D

Best character has to be either the Knight who says Ni or the Frenchman. I dont really have a favourite actor.

The Holy Grail is just such a classic piece of kitsch (Watch it with the Henry IV Part 2 subtitles!!), it's almost beyond rating.

I love Life of Brian.
Meaning of Life was okay.

Others I liked with at least 2 Pythons:
Yellowbeard
Brazil
A Fish Called Wanda

Others I didn't really like with at least 2 Pythons:
Jabberwocky
Time Bandits

Yeah now you mention it they do all look the same. Sounds like the kind of half-arsed think they would do just for a joke

Actually, it was red tape. They were supposed to shoot at like a half dozen different castles, then the local Scottish whatever said "no, you can just use this one"...

I'm not positive, but it looks like the same castle as was used in Highlander.

Actually, all catles, but Camelot and Castle Aghhhhhhh! were the same Castle. Camelot was a cardboard cut out, and they needed a different castle for Castle Aghhhhhhhh! because it was on an island.

Indeed, Monty Python is the best thing that ever happened to television and movies.

Favorite movie is obviously the Holy Grail.

However, my favorite skit has to probably be either the Ministery of Silly Walks, or perhaps The World's Funniest Joke. Both are awesome. I hear No One Expects the Spanish Inquisition is funny, but I haven't seen it yet :(.

Really? I thought it was they could only afford the one castle locale...

and that castle really is racking up the bucks from the movie... selling memmorbilia as well as 'renting' coconut halves so that fans can "gallop" around the castle.

The Spanish Inquisition is a running gag... always making an appearance throughout the episode.

btw... they're all my favorites. all of the episodes, movies, specials, records, cd's...

They only have one pair of coconut halves (some German bint was using them when I went there, dammit...) at the Doune Castle gift shop and they don't charge anything for the galloping! ;)

I have to agree the Holy Grail is the best, but Life of Brian rocks! I like the song at the end of The Meaning of Life when he walks out of the refridgerator. It makes me forget my troubles

The Meaning of Life was funny. I like the "Live Organ Donor", "The Miracle of Birth" and a few others.

The Holy Grail was the best, in my opinion.

My 11 yr old went as Brave Sir Robin for last Halloween and his friend was Patsy, complete with coconuts.

Best film...like everyone else, it's the Holy Grail.

As it says in the good book; when 2 or 3 are gathered...

...the parrot sketch shall be performed.

(I apologise if that is horribly, horribly mis-quoted. I haven't seen that in absolutely ages.)

I love that skit with the granny gangs, but not for the grannies themselves. It's those vicious gangs of Keep Left signs that crack me up. The Albatross skit from Live at the Hollywood Bowl is awesome, too.
