CToaN said last night on his modern classic cars thread that today is his birthday. CToaN and I go back aways to a period before I was on NS, and even though we've never met in person, I consider him a friend. So join me, if you will, in wishing him a happy birthday, and if there are any other NSers celebrating today, then join in the party.

I didn't make it down to Kinko's yesterday so I wasn't able to go online and I didn't see this until just now (I'm vagabond these days, but it looks like there might be an slight dim glow at the end of my current homeless tunnel.)
I'm kinda speechless. This was very kind of all of you. Thank you again.

You know what's sad is my day hit on a 'dry spell.' Though I did have a special cookie that I should have saved but felt that I needed to give Charlie and the Chocolate Factory it's 'best chance' if you know what I mean...(didn't help, aside from the funky Oompa Loompas and the grandparents I was pretty disapointed. I think, though, that the chocolate shop a block away from the theater is seeing some salad days this week...)

I had an unfortunate experience with cigars. I had quit smoking for over ten years, then I had that parachuting accident and was in a wheelchair ( after the second operation ) for over six months. I was bored out of my friggin' SKULL! Someone sent me a box of cigars, and like a phoole, I smoked the damned things ... hooked all over again. Sigh. After the first of August, though, I'm going to do what I did before to quit: substitute exercise for smoking; seems to be the only thing that works with me.
BTW ... at 34, whether you believe it or not, you really are "just starting!" :D

Jeez man, what are you made of? Steel? I'm pretty sure at this point you can't be killed.
I smoke cigars as my 'don't talk to me sticks,' when I'm trying to sort something out in the scripts or if editing is starting to make my eyes glaze. A fellow playwright mentioned that he excercised to do the same thing so when things stabilize I think I might do the same thing, kill two birds with one stone.

Woot!! Good!!.. You can do it. I was a phoole as you say, too... and started back. I will quit again.. soon.. I hope. Excersize helped me alot when I quit before also.
