school. I am thinking of dropping out of my AP German class. Why? Because I lack the speaking skills and I often irritate myself when doing the assignments.
:) oh wait..wrong one

Aber Deustch macht spass!

Frankly, I live for the class. I've had two great teachers, one in highschool, and my german professor in college. However, if you think it's to your benefit, perhaps you should do so. I would suggest you talk with your teacher, and see what they think. They may surprise you and tell you you're better than you think, or could still have a chance at improving. Also, practice speaking, it helps..a lot.

I enjoy the class, but I don't think I am up to it. If you were to post something in German, I would be able to understand it. I was a average student, not great but not horrible either. I am thinking about calling her, but seeing that it's summer vacation it would be rather akward.

Seriously? Talk to the teacher and try to get some help with it. The teachers, much like NS's mods, are (supposedly) there to help. I can't speak German very well either... but then again, I don't take it. :)

I'd post in German, but I'm tired..and I'd get stuck in this weird German/English mode, and confuse the hell out of my friends. Anyways..

I say you call your Frau, regardless, since this would affect your upcoming class schedule, and the fact that you'd not have any college applicable foreign language credits (they don't consider under AP to be applicable..*Rolls eyes*..at least, that's how it is, here). I'm sure she'd understand if you call her.

If you do not like it then dropping out would not be bad. I dropped out of my AP French class. The only thing is that you should try to replace it with some other AP or good useful class before you drop it(I tend to be of the mentality that the education is free so why not use it to its fullest extent)

Thanks for the advice, all of you. I will give her a call. I am unsure of what I would replace it with though.

No problem. I just suggest you see about testing out for your foreign language credits for college now, while it's still fresh in your mind.
