What am I?

My family on my dad's side is Welsh...on my mum's side partially welsh partially english, partially irish...etc etc....I moved to Wales (from England - horrible, horrible england) about 5 years ago.....people in england call me a "Welsh Sheep Shagger", people in Wales call me "English" (both equal insults). I would like to be considered Welsh by all - what am I?
(If you must know, I live in a place called Glyn-Coch, which is on a road called Ffynnongain Lane, which is in a village called Pwll-Trap, which is part of a town/village called San-Clér, in a county call Sír Gaerffyrddin, part of the Dyfed Powys constabulary (in police areas).... My nearest neighbours live in houses like Penlline Fawr.... People in the area often call me Llew (lion)... My name is Owain David Llewelyn Jones, My sister's name is Sian Jones, My brother is James Llewelyn Jones, My dad is Huw Llewelyn Jones, my grandad is Tom Jones, my uncles are Emlyn and Gareth Llewlyn Jones....any questions?)
EDIT: This is by no means a religous question...please...no religion!!

Now that's just not true. I'm pretty damn far outside the UK and I like to think I can make fair distinctions in accent. I might be wrong, I don't know, it's never been tested....
By and large, though, in an American-minded sense (with our beer goggles and our hokey cinematical view of you guys), apparently all Europeans, no matter where they're from, have either a German or English accent. There's no arguing. I don't care how many of my still-living relatives are from all over Europe and speak in tongues, I'm afraid I must stick with my fellow ignorants and insist that there's just a bunch of Nazis and nancies across the ocean.

That may be, but do you care? They look alike, they act pretty much the same way, except for a few unimportant details, and their most important distinction is whether their family comes from one end of the island or the other, they might as well be the same people.

Actually I do care. My grandpa's from Ireland and even he gets all huffy when people get stuff like that wrong, so I guess I just picked up an intense attention to detail when I was a child.
He also kicked one of my friends out of his house for saying that they liked his Scottish accent, but that was really just funny.

The British are very proud that they are not each other.
Did that make sense?
The English are incredibly proud that they don't wear skirts, therefore AREN'T pansies, that they're not Welsh, therefore have nothing to do with sheep, and that they're not Irish, therefore they don't get drunk all the time.
The Welsh love their sheep, and are incredibly proud of them, they're proud about the non-skirt wearing, the non-drunkeness, and they're really proud that they're not stuck-up like the English.
The Scottish love their skirts, okay kilts, and therefore, they go bare underneath. While the scottish do have sheep, the presence of the kilts make the sheep that much cooler. Plus, they're proud that they are not English, Welsh, and Irish. (okay I'm getting a bit bored here).
And the Irish! Oh, the Irish, they are incredibly proud of their religion, and the amount of alchohal they manage to consume in a year. However, to go against everyone's expectations of them, and to prove they were a little bit insane, the Irish were the first in Europe to ban smoking in public places.
So that is why, as a British person, you must clearly define who you are. And okay, I exagerated that a little bit, so I'm sorry if I offend anyone in the process. But it's true! Okay, maybe not...
Okay so I have a question. I'm Eurasian, making my father of the European kind. I always said he was English because both my grandfather and my father, and I have no idea hor many ancestors were born in an ittybitty English town. So recently I found out that one of my ancestors moved to that town in the 1700s from Wales. What does that make me. English but of Welsh decent?

First of all, most of the welsh people I know - and living in Wales and considering myself welsh - I know a few - pride themselves on being drunk and some of them wear skirts - ok kilts (yes, there are such things as welsh kilts - just not as widely known about).....Secondly - what do you consider yourself? That's what I think see, it's what you consider yourself....In fact I may try and consider myself a martian....more fun that way.......lol

if they were in wales for a long time before they left you could be said to be of welsh descent, but not if they just passed through for a generation or two.

If you are serious about this question... you are both Welsh and English. Genetically both are part of you and if either, and any of the other nationalities you mentioned and ones you are most likely unaware of, were missing you wouldn't be here. You can choose however which heritage you wish to emulate. That is obviously the Welsh. :)

Awww... look at'em little apes trying to define what they are by looking at what side of an imaginary line they were born. People are so funny, erecting this imaginary walls around them to separate them from other people, even though they are, for all effects and purposes, the same.
And it's even funnier when you consider that this lines are often drawn around what they're not than what they are, and where their parents were born and the language they spoke than anything they themselves may have accomplished or believe in as individuals.
They're so busy building their imaginary boundaries and definitions that they can't see the plain truth of their being, what they really are: damn filthy apes, the whole lot of you, humans!! At least some of you taste good! :D

If I met you I would probably just play it safe and call you Brittish. Scottish and Welsh definately get offended if you call them English, but Brittish is a nice all encompassing term for everyone from the Great Brittain. Also, Americans tend to easily confuse Scottish and Welsh, since we don't have much experience with the people of those groups, so the prudent thing to do is to just refer to a person like you as Brittish. If you then ask me to call you Welsh or any other nationality/group name, I would most certainly do so.
