Just a little something I came across whie surfing the web on pianos. It was at this year's Pi Day 2005 Ceremony. The composer (and player) is Noam D. Elkies, and this was the song's debut. Here's the link to the QuickTime video (http://www.math.harvard.edu/piday/2005/noam.mov) of him playing it (the quality is a little rough, and sometimes the movie pulls forward a little from the music), and here's a link to the sheet music (http://www.math.harvard.edu/piday/2005/index.html).

Rate how good you think the song is, plz.

I don't like the sound of the song, but I AM impressed by the difficulty level, and how well he plays it. Bloody hell. He's good.

The song itself isn't all that complicated-I could do it myself given enough time. I've played things more complicated and about as fast as this before. Still, his speed and technique is quite impressive.

What REALLY impresses me is the fact that Elkies composed the thing. It's a damn good piece of music.

I give Mr. Elkies an A+ in both composing and playing ability. Kudos, Elkies, from a friendly Jazz Pianist.
