Happy Anniversary Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Mike Collins. Thirty six years ago, man first set foot on the Moon.

If we only still had that much interest in space exploration, we'd be well on the way to Mars.

It's too bad space exploration came to such a halt, although it's expensive. But maybe it could have paid off by exploiting the lunar cheese mines.

Space exploration didn't come to a halt. It evolved beyond the need for big media events like putting people on the moon to more scientifically fruitfull events like putting robots on mars. A robot can stay in space longer, travel farther, and get more data than a human can. Plus it's cheaper and safer.

Yeah, sorry, I should have said manned space exploration. Not necessarily going to the other planets, but establishing colonies on the Moon would be neat.

Too difficult, I guess, but I think it'll be worth it in the long run.
