Dreams That Come True ?

This is a serious post - no flaming no religous arguments, please post your comments :)

Ok i've allways been weary of people who claimed dreams came true, to be honest I only ever seen one guy claim this on t.v and he said he worked out what things meant and went to warn a local airfield of a disaster he dreamt about they ignored him but right enough the crash happened and the poor pilot died. and they had proof that this guy warned them obviously.

Over the last 3-4 years i've had similair expereinces and because im a very social person I would tell my pal about my dreams then the exact same same stuff would happen it confused us both and he even came up with a theory that is was radiation from the local dockyard causing it to happen.

It's gone past coincidence as me and my friend have seen a few times.

Well I've been having this one dream about something happening ( its usually just silly things I see) and it's not nice. I hope they listen when I warn them and my details are some what sketchy.

NO IM NOT RELIGIOUS, IM NOT A WITCH A WICCAN OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. Although I respect others beliefs and I know some strong beleivers of their chosen religion may see me as a devil type or as someone outside them. Think what you like I don't mind.

Has anyone else had the same kind of dreams ? ? ?

I would love to actually meet or hear someone who has similair dreams.

yeah, me too, but only stupid things. like sitting in a doorway talking about a stuffed puffin, or some random discussion. (these are both examples of my 'dream come true' experiences, the first one only happened once, obviously.)

I turn to a station...I see a favorite show of mine...I think "Man, I'd really like to see that episode." Next thing I know, the EXACT episode I'm thinking of shows up...

This has happened at least twenty times in the last 3 years.

Am I truly the God of Television?

It's Called "Preconception", And some people mistakenly call it another sense, which is incorrect. It is mere conceiving, watch the willy wonka movie and you'll see what I mean. It's usually just a lucky guess. You dream that an airplane might crash, an airplane Might crash. It's usually just a coincidence. If you have this every night, you might need to just go gambling! :D

I distrust "true dreams" and "deja vu" implicitly ever since I received a fairly hard smack on the head a few years ago which gave me incredibly powerful deja vu, though I'd verifiably never suffered such an injury in such a situation before.

He's under a seperate contract for Saturday and Thursday nights. I go training Thursday nights and out to the pub on Saturday night, so no requirement for acceptable viewing.

D'you see? :D

Ever once in a while I dream up some random stuff that I cannot place anywhere. No time setting, no place setting, just really randomly parts. Like a discussion, a question, an answer. I can't even see the persons' faces and thus can't identify them.

I usually don't think about it once I'm fully awake but it happened more than a dozen times that I knew what was going to happen, I knew the answer that would be given, or the answer I would have to give to trigger a certain reply and thus match my dream.

Those déjà-vus don't happen too often, but yes, they do occur. Can't explain it either - I'm just glad that some of my nightmares haven't turned out to become reality.

Interesting post, Bluestrips2. Looking forward to others' stories as well.

I know what your saying but in the end think about this..

We don't dream enough to have a coincidence filled idea that then latches onto a similair thing that happens. Yes it will happen obviously.

But what im talking about is having a dream about something personal involving a friend. Say about a guy with a huge coat trying to sell me sex, he then offers me a drink in his bar but I was frightened so I woke myself up and then my friend to tell him about this dream at 3a.m because it was that intense.

We were in blackpool a holiday resort, the following day we met a girl who grabbed my hand for no reason and thought I was someone else, anyway she then told us about a pimp luring her back to his bar and trying to lock her in. We kept meeting her and then one night the guy came in with the same coat on from my dream, I felt scared like in my dream it felt weird, then the girl told us it was him. One of his friends came over and said something to her she started crying so I chased him up the stairs. Then i thought about my dream and went back to the table to see if my pal and her were ok.

Then the guy came over later on and offered us a drink at his bar we said no but he gave my pal money to get us a drink each. We didnt give him the change obviously for harrasing this younger girl.

Later on my pal reminded me about the dream I just laughed and felt weird.

After a while we put this under coincidence, but it has happened 3 time more, nothing can be this precise. If you don't have dreams like this I feel you wouldn't understand I probably would be sceptical myself if it didn't happen so much.

If I hadn't thought about my dream and kept chasing the guy upstairs who knows what would of happened slaughter probably these guys are pimps and I doubt they would care what I had to say.

if you are the god of television..... why don't you make t.v. good on saturdays and thursdays?

Because, obviously, the God of TV is resting on Saturdays and Thursdays. TV is such a terrible thing that unlike other deities, the God of TV needs two days of rest instead of one.

That said...

I sometimes have vivid dreams especially when I'm stressed, and remember them when I wake up (if so I try to write them down as good as I can). They are far too abstract to be about the future however, more stuff for a psychologist to analyze. I started blogging some of those dreams once, but stopped again because they felt too personal to publish.

None of them has ever come true.

Edit: But then again the entire planet getting towed away by alien police officers for orbiting in a no-parking zone is pretty unlikely.

Don't worry about it. It just means you focus a lot on your friends. I know a girl this happens for as well. She's completely a-religious. Like you, she's been inadvertedly fortune-telling for 2-3 years.

I don't know anything about this really, but I do know what her theory is. She thinks it's because people dream of the things they are busy with. Work, school, friends, sick family, new house you're buying...
Anyway dreaming of stull like that is completely normal. Anything that preoccupy your mind for a few days, will make it's way into your dreams. And if it's something you spend a few years thinking about, your dreams will be pretty vivid.
If there are a lot of recurring people or things in your dreams, or if they're themed alike, you know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, her explanation is that because she knows lot of closely tied people, and spends a lot of time with them & thinking about them, she dreams stuff about them. And since she knows them very well, she'll often dream situations that later happens.
Personally I think that sounds plausible. I don't have dreams like that however, so I can't really relate.

Dejavu is another matter entirely. Use the ever handy wikipedia if you want to know how dejavu works.

I dreamt the next day one time. It was kind of scary, I felt like I was just going through the same day, yet I had never actually been through it before.

Yes, you're right. I shouldn't have used déjà-vu - maybe déjà-rêvé would be more like it.
Or that pre-whatchamaycallit. :D

Dreamt about people who I have not been in contact with for ages 6months to 3 years. Generally they contact me within 2 to 3 days.

I have been experiencing something like this since I was about 11 (or at least that is as far as I can remember having it.) The only difference is that the glimpses (and that is what they are really, snatches of conversations, walking out the door to see a particular car drive by, a random face walking along, news articles, even me playing World of Warcraft months before it hit beta) happen while I am totally awake. I suppose the closest thing to call it would be "day dreaming." I can't really remember ever having any actual (sleeping) dreams come true but then again, I pretty much never remember any dreams at all. Even though these glimpses tend to be strikingly accurate when they actually happen, I have absolutely no way of knowing what is a "vision" and what is my imagination until the thing actually happens. So, this basically leaves me with the most useless form of pre-cognition ever. :D

Heh, probably the most productive thing that has actually come out of this "ability" would be some comic book-esque fiction I wrote once upon a time about a gun toting, pre-cognitive, anti-hero named "Makis" who was modeled after a much more useful ability. :D

This is freaky.

my uncle is in the SAS (the Royal Air Force version of the navy seals, to americans) and he kept having a recurring nightmare he didn't remember, about crashing (he's a chinook engineer). he'd wake up yelling "too low! pull up!" and suchlike.

so they took him of active duty and sceduled councelling, as bing in the SAS can whack your head a bit, but then. well, there was an incident a few years ago where a chinook crashed into a valley carrying politicians, from ireland i think. my uncle was scheduled to be on that, but he'd been taken off dut a week before.

they took himoff the councelling. pity, he does need it.

My mom would always dream about my godfather the night before he would show up. So she would get up in the morning and start making bannok, and tell us to take a bath because he was coming. We never doubted her, because she was never, ever wrong. And he never called ahead or let us know in advance...after a while, he made a game of trying to show up without my mom getting wind of it somehow, but he never succeeded. *shrugs* I can't explain it.

I have never had a lucid dream, but I do remember my dreams very well sometimes. I have a habit of hitting the snooze button in the morning way too many times. Every time, I fall right back to sleep and pick up right where I left off in the dream. If I wake up and stay up after a dream, the memory fades fast with time. However, when I hit the snooze and wake up every 9 minutes, I get to update the dream memory into my real memory (if that makes any sense.) This way I can usually remember an entire dream with good detail. I love falling back to sleep and picking up where I left off. Even if it isn't a great dream, I am astonished that I can return to it every time.

I also get very strong deja vu about 2-3 times a week.

I am going to try the light trick. I would really like to be able to be aware for my dreams while they occur.

I had a dream where I met this kid. We were in my mom's car and my mom was driving. Then this kid just disappeared. IT was at this time that I saw his head on a tree(yes it is quite disturbing, that's why I remembered it).
Okay so that was 3 or 4 years ago, I lived in CA at the time. Now I live in Idaho. Well just recently, I met that kid, he was on my Swim Team last year.
It freaks me out... Now I just hope he doesn't die.

IIRC it was carrying various experts on terrorism in NI...senior British Army and RUC Special Brance officers, as well as MI5 members.

I not claiming that I have any special ability or that I'm psychic, but I have had too many strange things happen to me for it to be coincidence. It happens in clusters of 3, and it's not anything I can control or be of any use to me at all.

What happens is, I will think about somebody that I really have no reason to think about, like someone I went to high school with and haven't seen in 20 years. Within the next few hours or days, I will run into that person.

But the most recent incident was very troubling and not easy for me to shrug off. I was going through an old box of pictures and came across a picture of a girlfriend I had about 10 years ago. I had not seen or heard from her in at least that long. I couldn't stop staring at her picture, wondering what she was up to, wanting to give her a call. This went on all day and I couldn't stop thinking about her.

As it turns out, it was about that time that she was dying (overdose-suicide). I found out by reading her obit in the paper a week later, which in itself is odd because I never read the paper, much less the obits.

Yeah, stuff like that will happen to me. I'll dream of doing something and it happens the next day most of the time. First time I actually recall dreaming something and it coming true was for one of my tests in school. I dreamed up some pretty tough questions and solved them in my dream. Next day on the test, the questions were on there.
