Stupidity
Here's a deep, intellectual thought for all of you. One which I am seriously pondering, so I'm not just trying to be a smartass...
Who is more stupid:
The guy who does something stupid and is too stupid to know it was stupid?
Or
The guy who knows something is stupid and is stupid enough to do it anyways?

The first one is more stupid. The second one uses less common sense.
Guy who knows something is stupid and does it anyways.
Kinda like taking up smoking.
First one applies mostly to little kids who are learning that doing some things are just....stupid. Like pissing on people you don't like at school....>_>....
EDIT: I didn't stop pissing on people I didn't like until the 6th grade. :D

Define stupid...... it can be quite fun

Col, your sig is perfect. :D
BTW, have you checked out the new SSA, Col? Link's in my siggy.

Calling the mods assholes in the mod forum? That's kinda stupid. True, but stupid...
Now, am I more stupid if I didn't know how stupid that is? Or am I more stupid for knowing it was stupid and doing it anyways?

I think it depends from case to case

I noticed it fit the thread after I posted. ;)
And about the SSA, I'm leaving to go eat out soon, and when I get home I have some work and some T.V. to watch/do (respectively...watch work and do T.V. :D). Today or tommorrow I seriously need to check it out.

If the second guy is smart enough to know something is stupid, then he is smarter than the first guy who is too stupid to know it is stupid.
Whether he chooses to do the stupid thing anyway is irrelevant to his level of stupidity relative to the even more stupid person. Maybe he's just a risk taker.

Stoopid is as stoopid does. I go with the guy who knows it's stupid but does it anyway. The first guy was doomed to begin with.
You can't criticize a retard for shooting off their foot like you could a genius, but you can laugh at them both equally.
The first one is more stupid. The capacity to act in a way you know to be stupid can be defended sometimes (You can always fall back on good old personal choices.). If you're too stupid to KNOW something is stupid, well... you're really stupid. (Or young, but it doesn't seem like we're counting kiddies here.)
first one is the more stupid. the second one is just a spoiled kid looking for attention by doing something stupid

The first guy is more profoundly stupid. The second guy could have many motives to do this stupid thing, which he might not consider stupid when he weighs the options.
For example, it's stupid to rob a store, but if your mafia boss is going to pay you a load for doing it, that's more incentive.
My vote is for the guy who knows it's stupid but does it anyway. I mean, if you don't know it's stupid, you're just ignorant. But it takes a special, through-stupidity-and-out-the-other-side kind of idiocy to do something stupid even when you KNOW it's stupid.
Actually, maybe it's better to say that it's more stupid to JUSTIFY stupidity than just to be stupid.
Meh. Now I'm all confused. :D

I guess it depends on how you define "stupid". If it means lack of knowledge, then the first guy is more stupid. On the other hand, if it means taking irrational action, then the second guy is more stupid. One can be ignorant and still be rational. Now I'm going to go back to being stupid. :headbang:
Because I like being a smartass...I'll say they're both equally stupid... :p
I've got it! The stupidest guy ever!
A guy who knows something is stupid, but he doesn't know just how stupid it is, but even knowing that it's stupid at all, he does it.
I WEEN!

Wait, if someone does something stupid but they don't know that its stupid and theres noone around to think that its stupid and noone ever finds out and says "that's stupid" IS IT REALLY STUPID AT ALL?
Probably.

What about the person who does something stupid because it's stupid?
That describes me fairly well. :)
Of the two, the stupidest is probably the one who created this thread. :p

Raises another good point Czardas, ;)
Who's stupider.
The one who created the thread
Or the one who posts on the thread?

Ha, I remind myself of another elementary school kid who says something along the lines of "Whoever uses THIS bathroom stall is gay!"
*flees as well*
I hate you both...Die...
But check out the SSA before you do.

If a tree falls on somebody stupid but no smart people are around to see it, does it make a sound?
