Just out of curiosity, and because I cant actually PLAY the damn things due to computational-crappyness.
These are the games I bought over the summer with my grandparents generous $40 a week donations for doing the housework ^_^
'Course now IM working off a computer, but I dont exactly regret not getting paid anymore :P

(Crap, just realized I forgot to log out of my puppet.
This is Dontgonearthere, who is too lazy to go back to the NS login page, log out of BMG, log into DGNT, and re-type the poll/topic)

Any interesting stories/descriptions you have would be fine. Mark spoilers accordingly :P

Most of those games are either obsolete or garbage.

Superpower 2 and Dungeon Siege are both old. SP2 is also a TERRIBLE game with no realistic detailed political or economical controls. Domestic situations are terrible as well. If you have it, don't even bother playing multiplayer cuz no one's ever on. It's just so bad. Even the features mentioned on the box aren't in the game and there's a ridiculous amount of bugs that are yet to be corrected in patches despite the dozens of ones already fixed.

DS is awesome, but it's old. DS2 came out a while ago too and is awesome. If you need an RPG to play to GET ACQUAINTED with action RPGS, this is the one, but don't form a party with more than 4 characters unless yer incredible at RTS gaming and if you like extra-fine tuning yer characters. The amt. of characters you can acquire out does building a developed squad, and there are many instances where you can get ambushed and slaughtered unless you're willing to try different tactics after constantly reloading.

Battlefield 2 is definitely the best one there. You got real weapons and real sides to play as and have realistic scenarios. It's almost like being a soldier in the story line of C&C Generals: USA and China vs Terrorists.

Nice list but could be a lot better. If you're looking for a good RTS, try Rise of Nations. If you wanna try a good turn based imperial game, try Hearts of Iron 2.

It's more of a global domination simulation game with the three spheres as ways to complete your domination. It's a much better game if you think that way.

And there ARE some NS players that play SP2. Me, for instance.

Though I have yet to play Multiplayer.

Rise of Nations, thumbs down. Total waste of time. You just do the same things over again. Mindless resource gathering, military buildup, city building, expanding, fighting, and that's about it. Oh, the different nation powers vary it up. But that's about it. Very annoying.

Thats the one I forgot to put in! I did get HOI2. And I already have RoN, didnt like it much though.
I played SuperPower though, and I though it was a fairly good game, it needed to fix some things, but if, for instance, you could make unit movement more realistic it would be cool.

I own both Dungeon Siege (with the expansion) and Dawn of War, and love 'em both. despite its supposed age issue, the replay and online play for Dungeon Siege is still very good. A little mindless, but that's what a lot of video games are built for. Dawn of War is gorgeous and innovative. Can't wait for the expansions to start.

Well I've already got GTA:SA, Warhammer 40K : Dawn of War and FarCry, so my vote goes to Battlefield 2.

I liked SuperPower, so I'll guess I'll go for SP2... but I haven't really played computer in months...

I'd love to send my own Space Marine Chapter (descendents of the glorious Space Wolves) into battle with Dawn of War.

"Computational-crappyness" is exactly what keeps me from doing so. :(

I'm just glad / not as sad that I'm not the only one who apparently has an older workhorse here :D

On the other hand, all the classics still work - something I'm not too sure of when I'd buy a new machine.

I’m going to have to go with GTA: SA.

HOI2 is real-time, albeit strategic scope. And I very highly recommend it.

Out of the list, I want GTA-SA and Silent Hunter III.

IL2 is good, but i'd recommend getting Pacific Fighters as well, with the update the flight models are better. I find the one in IL2 vanilla to be too forgiving. And definitely do not buy Lock On: Modern Air Combat.
