Have the Stones Hopelessly Sold Out?

i know theyre old. mick jagger was born in '43. but they have more money than god, more fame than satan, and a big time bad boy reputation. do they NEED to sell out at this point?
it was bad enough when mick jagger got knighted. tacky for a rocker but a bit of personal glory that he couldnt resist. keith richards rightly mocked him for it.
but to see the famous stones logo

*shudder* what? this tour isnt going to make them more money than ever? they are worried about maybe going bankrupt? the gajillion pounds they have now arent enough? they now need to mock their baby boomer fans by hooking up with a freaking MORTGAGE COMPANY?
why dont they just team up with N'Sync and make it official? stinking sell-outs

The Stones sold out?
The Stones never sold out, becuae they were never anything else.
They were crafted, and designed to be exactly what they are.
They were never really an "undergound" sound, becuase they hit fame very quickly, and never looked back, putting thier faces everyhwere they could.
They were the first "Arena Rock' band.
Im not ragging on them, but the stones always WERE sold out.

I wouldn't have gone quite as far as Squatches in my condemnation, but yeah--they've been sellouts for a long time. I mean, what can you say about a rock and roll band that sang "I know it's only rock and roll but I like it"?
Not to be ugly about it, but that's a band that could have used a plane crash or an obsessive stalker with a handgun a couple of decades or so ago.

If that's not an extremely ugly comment, I don't know what is. When it comes to the radical swing in R&R of that era, I rate the Stones on a par with the Beatles...if not a bit superior. Either way, I've been a Stoner since before puberty and pretty apt to continue.

Doing a lot better. Ended up that I have a torn rotator cuff. They're trying PT to avoid surgery and it seems to be working. I'm even able to spend a little time on the computer without a lot of pain. Thanks for asking!!
