Having burned my hand with boiling water recently, I had an idea.

What is the most painful thing that ever happened to you?
I mean physical pain, not emotional.

I would have to say that burns are pretty nasty, but an infected toenail (eew!) was right up there too.

Shattering your femur and breaking your ankle all at the same time measures a bit high on the pain scale too. :(

I've taught myself to control the amount of pain I feel, which can be quite useful.

Hmm..Well, I decided to dig into my arm to see how much pain I could get. Decided to stop, when it got rather deep. Mom noticed, took me to the doctor, who was concerned/amazed that I did it. I told him I ignored the pain. I've had a couple warts frozen off, the first one surgically removed, as well. Managed to ignore the pain for that, for the most part. I've gotten 2nd degree burns, which I shrugged off. Oh..Infected toe. I noticed it hurt, had a passing thought to take care of it, didn't for a couple days, poked it, and found out it was infected, lol. And of course, me nuts subjected to physical trauma. Also, I've been stabbed.

Wisdom teeth, however..sucked.

A second degree burn on my finger tips. All my worse injuries looked worse than they hurt.
But emotional pain hurts quite a bit more.

Oh crap. I forgot dental pains...they can be pretty bad too.I had a tooth pulled once where the dentist must have hit some kind of blood vessel. The anesthetic numbed my front teeth, but not where it was going to hurt. Wasn't as bad as the fingers, though.

You do not know true pain until you've had a flexible cystoscopy without a general anaesthetic. Mine still hurts aftwer a week.

multiple broken bones: femur, hand, 9 fingers
Dislocated thumb
stab wound deep under patella
torn ligaments, knee
concussion
massive soft tissue damage, lower back
foot surgery - pins, screws

Kinda sore, but you should have seen the other guy.

I just remembered my longest injury. I jumped into a pond once and hit a rock with the bottom of my foot. Walking around on crutches in a german wood is an interesting experience... it still hurt four or five months later.

Well obviously none of you have had to hold in diahhriaa during a swimming event while wearing a jammer (think bike shorts).

Although I think that falls under "Emotional pain"

I deal with pain well. I don't notice much. But breaking my arm hurt. Not the actual breaking of it, its when the doc had to push the broken bone around to get it in to place and jabbed in to the nerve. Its really cool now, my leaft arm is shorter because that is the one I broke.

My penis was ripped off by a giant robot, then he cut open my stomach and took out all my organs...that hurt

Apparently, I come off of pain killers quicker than most people. One instance in particular sticks out:

I had gum surgery and was given about twenty injection in my mouth that should have dulled the pain until about thirty minutes to an hour after the operation, long enough for me to pick up pain killers from the pharmacist, it didn’t. About five minutes after leaving the dental surgeon’s office, it felt like my teeth were being slowly twisted by pliers. What’s ridiculous it this didn’t happen just once, it happened again on the second surgery!

Hmm..Well, I decided to dig into my arm to see how much pain I could get. Decided to stop, when it got rather deep. Mom noticed, took me to the doctor, who was concerned/amazed that I did it. Breaking my leg. Not the break itself, that was no worse than any other sharp knock and much less painful than, say, bad toothache. However, having a team of nurses manipulate it back into position for a temporary cast was the second most painful thing I've experienced.

The worst pain was coming round from the subsequent operation to graft some bone from my hip onto my femur and fit an external fixating frame. It felt like someone had just screwed two half-inch diameter bolts into my femur and hammered half a dozen nails in for good measure, with a couple of internal screws to hold the bone graft. Which is what had happened. Quite extra-ordinary. The pain hit me just that interesting couple of seconds before the rest of my conciousness came back.

The third worst was on hot days, when (a) the bone was growing back; and (b) the metal frame started expanding in the heat ........ :(
